It depends on the state. Most states just require the certification. Contact your local real estate office (remax, century 21), they usually have classes to prepare for the test. The classes can cost about $200.00 but it could be worth it in the long run.

Each state is different, but I don't think any one of them requires a degree. In Maryland, only a prescribed amount of training in specified Fields is required. Many Real Estate companies give the training in exchange for working for them upon completion. They usually charge a nominal fee, to keep out those not really interested.

It really depends on what type of Real Estate. My brother buys, rehabs, and sells house and he doesn't have either. If you are trying to work for a Real Estate firm, you will need to have taken the classes and take the local exam and the national exam.

No degree needed, and most larger real estate firms (remax, long and foster, etc.) provide training for people to get certified. Look through the employment section in your newspaper under the real estate section, they're listed there quite often.

You need to be licensed. A college degree is not required. However, the better able you can intelligently hold a conversation, the better chance you'll have at working for a broader number of clients.

Many states are moving towards requiring a four year degree. You should check with your state licensing board, or a Realtor in your area.
