I have termites in my apartment and I want to move badly. Almost everything in my apartment is made wood. Everyday i come home from work and their all over the place in the bathroom, kitchen and hallway. i told my landlord about it last week, she said she would get someone to fix it, no one showed. can i break my lease without having to pay the remainder of the lease and not have it put on my credit report?

Question: Is there anything we do or are we just out of luck?

Situation:We live in an apartment, on the second floor. Our apartment is completely enclosed, meaning that even the stairs to get up to our apartment are covered.

One of our neighbors is a smoker--an indoor smoker. That's fine until you realize that our apartment is inuadated by smoke due to a faulty vent and doorway. There are times that the halllway is smokey because of it.

While this is normally not a problem, I am allergic to smoke and we have a 17 month old son and one on the way--not really the environment to be with second hand smoke.

We have asked him to take it outside, but he said that there are no rules about it. We asked our apartment complex and after 3 weeks of being told "we'll look into it," we were told that there's not a darn thing they can do about it.

In the meantime, I've had to spend a few nights in the hospital thanks to my reaction to the smoke. This is just getting VERY annoying.

My husband and I are looking to buy a house in the next three years. But we have some constraints: 1. we want to take advantage of some of teh programs that are out there to help you buy a home, 2. we havent saved up enough as yet, but we are just at the beginning, 3. my husbands credit is good/okay, mine is not good, 3. we need to be no more than 1.5 to 2 hours away form the city and 3. we need to be someplace where there is diversity and where we can find a muslim school.

I've been looking but the only places that hit most of the criterias, is out of our price range. Is there someplace I am missing? Any advice?

i just took a trip to florida, they are cutting down anything that doesnt float and putting up buildings. Most of these cost a bundle, bill gates may pay cash for them, but most people will have many payments. Since pools, satellite dishes, and docks if near the water seem to be standard issue, why not a couple solar panels and water heater. It is florida after all, and if you are allready paying a half million or so for a house, what is another 10k gonna mean to you. Why dont they make it mandatory to include these on all new housing and condos and businesses. With that many the price would come down quickly and pay for itself long before the house is payed off and/or florida is flooded due to global warming.

buyer and seller have entered into contract for deed. Seller goes to court unbeknownst to buyer to repossess land, 4 years into the contract claiming contract has been broken by buyer. Buyer continues to make payments (for 1 1/2 years) after court has issued petition for ejectment . Seller accepts payments. Doesn't this nullify the petition for ejectment?
