this is what it says:
After much consideration the best alternative we can offer is to extend the vacate time to may 31st 2007 with a fee of 2,000 to compensate for time lost.We need to move ahead with out business plan.
this is what it says..i recently got a letter from them last time saying i needed to move out but i called them and asked them if i could stay here a bit longer and this is their response..but i really don't know what they're saying please help!

I would ask the landlord to either clarify what he means or move out, it sounds quite confusing ,I'm guessing he's either a poor lawyer or likes confusing people.
If it's only the month's rent (up to end of May), then it shouldn't be a big deal. If it's more than that, I'm guessing he's trying to line his pockets and is intimidating you to move out immediately.
If you need time and he refuses to accept the rent that is due then the only option is to wait until he goes to court and receives and court order for proper eviction. If he accepts the rent then it is based on a monthly contract (30 days eviction or leaving notice ). Remember though, he may in turn sue you for the months rent if you refuse to pay anything up to legal eviction date.

For the record the house Susan rents is not her home. Susan is simply a long term tenant. Yes she will be evicted if she cannot pay every month on time. The fact that she rented the house for 9 years is irrelevant. Her job loss is her problem. She is right to be worried because she has no right to free housing regardless of her personal situation. If Susan has no savings she might as well pack her bags and vacate the house now. It would be better to do it on her own than to have the sheriff escort her off the property. An eviction on her record will make it very tough for Susan to find new housing.

I would ask for clarification from the landlord. But, with what information you included, it looks as though if you want to stay until 05/31/07 you will need to pay your landlord 2,000 dollars.

It's pretty cut and dry. Pay 2000 if you want to stay longer.
