I have recently found out that my FICO score dropped after I was added to my husband's new credit cards as an "authorized user". If I remove my name out of his 2 credit cards, will my FICO score be back as before?

I have a ccj and some defaults that were paid off and marked satisfied over 18 months ago, is there any way in which I can now get them removed of my credit file? By applying somewhere or paying etc? My credit history has been fine since (had a rought patch). Any info would be great Thanks.

so i received a check for a credit on a card i have. however, i havent used the card so i have a zero balance. in the past few months i have been receiving statements that say i have a credit for like 300 dollars. finally last month, they issued me a check "for the refund of credit on my account". i have called the automated line and it said there was a payment made on my account for that amount in may. so im guessing that a payment was made to another account but by accident was posted to mine. i think its weird that after like 5 months so one would have realized this. and i would also think that before they cut me a check that someone would have double checked it for accuracy. i havent called to talk to a live person yet.. i have been thinking about just cashing it. i could really use some new eye glasses and im low on money..

what would u do? do you think they would be able to come after me for the money if they realized they made a mistake?

My boyfriend is trying to rebuild his credit and I suggested a secured credit card since he can't get an unsecured. Now the problem is trying to find a good company that is not trying to rip him off with horrible fees or just take his deposit money and run. I'm looking for some info from people who've had actual experience with a company. Good or Bad...

I got a call from a bill collector a few years ago when one of my credit card payments was a week late. I never had a late payment before so I was grateful that he reminded me to pay before it went past the 30 day mark and went on my credit report. It totally slipped my mind. I told him that I was glad he called and that I appreciated his help in getting me to pay my bill promptly. He was totally taken aback and said, "Wow. Nobody has ever thanked me for calling before." It made me think that their job must be depressing. After all, they are working to earn a paycheck like the rest of us, but their days are spent delivering bad news to people. I imagine they deal with irate and defensive people all the time.

Can you use a debit card to buy things online? Usually it just says credit card, but can you just put in your debit card number? Will it work?

I would also like to know if there is a service that will take your credit card as a payment and then they pay for a service like it was cash or check.

Basically I want to pay my car off with my rewards card so i can get a load of cash back and rewards for paying something that is typically cash.

I have bad credit and I am working to establish that credit. I've heard of the prepaid credit cards that report to the credit bureau, but some are $30 to start the account. I'm looking for the following:

- Reports to credit bureau, so that I can improve my credit.
- Low start up fee. (Under $10.00)
- Low monthly or annual fee (Under $10 p/month, $60 p/year)

If anyone knows, or has story about a good card, please respond. Thanks.

CR Management took money out of my account last month and also this month. I have never even heard of this company, and what's even more weird is that this company has been taking money out through an automatic system (meaning they somehow got a way to take money out of my account automatically). Please give me ideas on how I can trace this company and find out what they're charging me for.

I've set up alerts on all three credit unions and have monitored my cc's for any abuse. It simply doesn't seem to be enough. Any suggestions (other than obvious stuff like being careful with my ss and other confidential info).

I knew I would have to pay a late charge and was prepared to do that, but now they added an over limit fee because of the late charge and my annual membership fee being due. So now they want $150. I cannot pay that much, so it will be another late fee and another overlimit fee, All I can pay is about $50. I tried to talk to them about it very nicely, pointing out that I will never get it caught up if they dont work with me a little here, and they refused to reverse any of the charges at all. So what is the use of sending any thing? The late fee and overlimit fees will keep adding up and negating my payment.

When we started looking to buy a house we needed a loan company who would work with someone who had a bankruptcy. After inquiring from a number of loan companies we finally found one who would work with us. They ran a credit check at the begining of last month. We signed some papers and when they went to underwriting they ran another one. Then because our score was lower than before, they turned us down. Because of alot of companies running a credit check it has brought our score down. How can we work on bringing it back up so that we can get a good deal on a loan?

I recently joined a credit counseling service because I am a college student that got way in over my head with credit cards. I was painted into a corner and had nowhere else to turn- so first and foremost I do not regret doing it. When my dad found out, though, he went ballistic. He said I basically had just filed for "partial bankruptcy" and it would kill my credit score. I've read other accounts that say that credit counseling shouldn't hurt your credit. I really want a definitive answer on this. Does it hurt your credit or not? And if so, how badly?

You sign up for a new Credit Card...
the agent tells you about some "Special Programs" that
are available to you...
for example:
1- Payment Protection
2- Identity Protection

You know you DO NOT want them...
You know you would NOT and HAVE NOT authorized them...
Yet, they appear as charges on your FIRST STATEMENT.

This has happened to me before, and has just happened again...
the (monthly) charges are $11.99 for one and $16.49 for the other...

I'm in the process of cancelling both...

How common is this for charges that you DO NOT want and
you never authorized to appear on your statement anyway?
