This happened to me and yes I did find a way to get my payment back to normal. When you speak to the cc rep. tell them this: I have had problems in the past, but I want to rectify the situation. I want your company to be able to REGENERATE my credit card account. That's what you say. This is something that the cc company will do for you only 1 time. Any screw ups and you will be back to square one with them. Speak to them in a nice normal voice, not loud or rude. Only call them to tell them you want to regenerate (re age) your account when you are ready to pay them what you used to. Don't wait too long though that they send you to collections. Good Luck I hope this works for you. Cc companies are leeches!!

Close the card. NOW!
That will stop any continuing fees and stop your temptation to spend on it.
You can still probably get another card once you clear this debt, by not making payments you will risk never being able to get another card ever, no home loan, no car loan...
Ring back. Speak to a supervisor. Say you want to close the card and get the thing onto a P& I reduction. If they want work with you, ring an ombudsman or the like.
Its a problem, don't make it a major one OK.

Call again, ask to speak to a supervisor. And yes, pay what you can. You're in real trouble, and it's going to get worse. Don't make it any worse than it has to be. Keep going up the line of command until you find someone who can negotiate. You can also stop using the card and ask that it be closed, so you won't have to pay the membership fee, but then you can't charge on it again.

OK......I USED TO BE A THIRD PARTY BILL COLLECTOR...NOT ANYMORE. THE ECONOMY IS A JOKE RIGHT NOW. BE HAPPY YOU HAVE A JOB. NUMBER ONE IF YOU CAN'T MONITOR YOUR SPENDING THE LAST THING YOU WANT IS A CREDIT CARD WITH AN ANNUAL FEE. WE BOTH KNOW THAT MEANS JUST LIKE THE REST OF AMERICA YOU HAVE LESS THEN PERFECT CREDIT. THIS IS HOW IT WORKS....CREDIT IS EVERYTHING, YOUR HOME, YOUR CAR, YOUR BANK ACCOUNT, AND NOW EVEN YOUR JOB. BANKS ARE BECOMING DESPERATE. IF YOU DONT HAVE A LOT OF CEDIT CARD DEBT FIND SOMEONE TO HELP YOU PAY THEM OFF THEN YOU PAY OFF THEM. RECENTLY I SPOKE WITH THE CONTROLER OF A LARGE NATIONAL BANK AND THERE IS ALOT MORE CREDIT REPORT CHECKING BY BANKS THEN EVER. IF YOU CAN FIX IT NOW DO IT....DONT WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE OUT OF A CAR, NO JOB AND $60K WITH CREDIT CARDS AND AN 80/20 HOME LOAN. PAY THEM OFF!!!!!

The negative report on your credit rating will be there for 7-10 years, so pay it off right away. Some employers and most landlords will check credit ratings. Pay the bill.

PAY WHAT YOU CAN!!!!
If you totally ignore your credit card your balance will be charged off and that will look really bad on your credit report.
The credit card companies will take what they can get. You do not want a Charge Off on your credit report.

If you stiff one c.c. co, they'll all put you on their s...t list and totally ruin your credit. There are legitimate gov'm't agencies who can help you bail yourself out. Your creditors are less likely to put the ...... to you, if there is evidence, that you are genuinely making legimate attempts to square yourself. If you are a mature individual, you'll in the future treat creditors like caged tigers, which they are. Best of luck.

And if you don't pay, it goes to collections. Pay what you can, try to get another card to transfer over, borrow from whoever you can to pay this off. What about your folks, can't they help you out?
