I had my credit card stolen a few months back, and now some company calls me, up to 5 times a day, wanting to update my credit information. They were given my information, but I did not order from them, it was whoever stole my credit card. I explain this and I will either be given another number to call, and they will say it is taken care of when it's not, or hang up on me. What should I do to make them stop calling and get rid of my information?

My credit is PISS POOR but I'm sure they're are people with worse credit than me with really nice cars. I need to get a car financed for about 31k. I know traditional loan companies would laugh at me. I know not to expect a stellar rate but for the car I want, this is a steal for 31k.....Any suggestions?

I recently just raised my credit score from 580 to 620, and i want to purchase a car. I've already been to one dealership and they pulled my credit. I've been approved for a car between 15000 and 16000. How many times at this one dealership do they pull your credit from different banks and how many more dealerships should i go to before it hurts me any worse than it already has hurt me? Also I co-signed for my husband last year on his car , why won't they let me have one in my own name, even though i make more more than him and credit rating is higher than his?

Okay, we have talked to two different lenders and got two different answers. I think I may have misunderstood them....
What is the maximum % you can borrow with a HELOC in Texas. Let's say the house is worth $100,000 and it is COMPLETELY paid for. Best case/ credit scores etc. scenario...Shouldn't we be able to borrow 80%, which is $80,000? The chic at Bank of America said the limit in Texas is 50%, but the guy at the other place said it was 80%. I'm confused!

I took out a loan recently for $28,000, amortized over 10 years. Payments are approximately $340 per month. I have not made my first payment yet and was wondering if I made a payment of $20,000 if the lender would have to redo the amortization schedule and start charging interest on the new balance of $8,000 or can they continue to charge interest the way the loan was originally written? Are there any laws regarding this?

There are no prepayment penalties on this loan.

My credit card payment was due October 6; balance was $500. Minimum payment is $15. I use my credit card for EVERYTHING so I can earn points, but I pay off the balance in full each month. I always pay on time or early, but never late.

Until this month. On Sept 20, I sent out my check for $1K (I was planning to pay the balance due plus the amounts of charges not on the statement) using the pre-addressed payment envelope they sent with my statement.

I continued using my credit card, thinking nothing was amiss, but then it would get denied at some stores & restaurants. So I check my credit card account online and discover that my payment was never received! So my payment is late (even tho I sent it on time) and I've got the $39 late fee to prove it. On top of that, because my check was never received, I'm at my credit line limit!

I'm worried what happened to my $1000 check I sent. And of course, worried about my credit score and how to go about fixing this. What to do?

I have bad credit. I owed credit card companies a lot of money but I have since paid every penny back. I wanted to know if I could get it erased off my record since it has all be paid back and if so how. Do I have to get it "expunged" like criminals get their criminal records "expunged"?

Say I have $500 that needs to be paid on a credit card. Once the bill comes in the mail does it help my credit score to pay off the whole balance rather than just paying off the minimum payment on time?

I'm interested in several credit cards for various reasons, but I've heard that having lots of credit cards, even if you don't abuse them and pay all your bills on time, lowers your credit rating. Also, I've heard that every time you check your credit rating it goes down. Is that true?

My husband usually keeps track of our credit card bills. But as I was going through the old statments they were charges in them that either one of us made. He had paid a friends cell bill in january and she got ahold of the cards number and has been charging things with out us knowing. these were made in January and the lady at the credit card company did not know if it was too late to file a criminal charge against her. any thoughts?

There are tons of companies out there that will make your credit report available from all three agencies so you can monitor. My hubby has poor credit and we would like to have monthly statements and/or be informed of changes ASAP. We think that someone may be tapping into his account and we need to get a handle on this quickly and clean up his credit so that we will be able to use his credit & income to get a home in about 3 years. (My credit is good/excellent - but debt is high, so for the next 3 yrs, I will be paying those balances down.)

What company(s) have you personally used?
NO SPAMMING or ADVERTISEMENTS please.
Please, from personal experience, what has worked for you or a friend or family member?

Thanks ahead of time!
