There are tons of companies out there that will make your credit report available from all three agencies so you can monitor. My hubby has poor credit and we would like to have monthly statements and/or be informed of changes ASAP. We think that someone may be tapping into his account and we need to get a handle on this quickly and clean up his credit so that we will be able to use his credit & income to get a home in about 3 years. (My credit is good/excellent - but debt is high, so for the next 3 yrs, I will be paying those balances down.)

What company(s) have you personally used?

Thanks ahead of time!

Steve B-since you don't allow emailing, I am compelled to contact you this way. You said "Why are people in debt / poor / have bad credit ? because they WASTE their money on things they DON'T NEED)". This shows a hard heart on your part. You have only walked in your shoes and show little empathy for others who have had situations hit them that was out of THEIR CONTROL. I was unemployed 11 months. My fault? 9/11 happened just then. Part time was all I could get for 3 yrs & had to live on that - My fault? Had to subsidize my living so I could EAT. My fault? My hubby had a major stroke 5 days before 9/11, he's in a wheelchair, his roomates stole his stuff/ruined his credit - HIS FAULT?
Try to have a little compassion, Steve B, before you cut people down with your sharp tongue. Thx.

If you suspect fraud, you can have a fraud alert put on your credit with each of the credit reporting agencies for free. I believe it lasts for 90 days and what it does is prevent new accounts from being opened. The credit agency would call you first to obtain authorization for each account that is submitted to them. I don't know much about credit monitoring agencies, hopefully someone else can talk about that.

Don't waste money you don't have 'monitoring' your credit .. spend that money paying off loans so you can IMPROVE your credit rating instead ...

If you are worried about some sort of SCAM being run on your accounts, you need to contact the Bank / Credit Card Company == by the time it's on your Credit record you have already been convicted via CCJ / Small Claims Court .. all the complaints in the world will cut no ice with the Credit Rating Agency .. you will have to dispute the claim before it reaches court ..

(Why are people in debt / poor / have bad credit ? because they WASTE their money on things they DON'T NEED)
