It depends on how diligent the issuing creditor is in examining your credit history. If they don't check it, for whatever reason (usually it's too expensive and time-consuming), then you'd get approved, no matter what! If you have bad credit, don't get another card. You need to budget your funds and pay your current debts; credit cards - - gas or otherwise - - make it seem as if money doesn't matter, so the tendency is to spend more. If you have criminal intent, then you're probably going to get caught, sooner or later, and then you won't have to worry about gas cards or bad credit! ;)
