Just wondering, if someone in the family grants a personal loan to me, and i want them to report my payback payments to my credit record, is this possible? I'm wondering because i was hoping it might improve my credit rating since it's for a home.

My husband recently received a Citi Mastercard in the mail that he did NOT apply for. It came in a plain envelope and appears to be a legitimate card. Is this legal? I don't know who to call. I don't want to close the account - I want it to have never existed!

My father in-law has incurable cancer, and outstanding credit card debt of about $55K. Can the credit card companies sue his estate or children to collect the outstanding balances on his accounts once he passes away?

I was told it was 7 years. I opened an account under my name for a telephone landline in 2002 for a family member which turned delinquent. I was told that my options (since it's been 5 years) were paying the money off in payments or waiting two years which would erase it from my credit. But the creditors say thay if I don't pay it they'll just sell the account before the 7 years is up and the 7 years will start over with that creditor company. Is that true?

I need true information from someone that is either in the business or has been through it first hand. Thanks.

My husband and I will be relocating. This time we would like to purchase a home. When we got married my credit was better than my husband's. Now we found out my husband's credit is better than mine. For which I am glad. The scenario is because his credit is better than mine, the mortgage company will not be able to put my name on the mortgage loan. Of course I am disappointed. I paid off alot of my debts I still have a car payment, and 2 credit cards to payoff. Should I worry about not being on the mortgage loan? My husband can put me out of the house at any time. I don't want a sceen like on "Diary of a Mad Blk Woman". (When the husband dragged his wife out of the house. Her name was on nothing.)What can be done or should I just relax and enjoy? or am I making a big deal for no reason? or am I jealous?

What happens in a case where you take a job that says you are paid $27,000 annually, but you have just discovered that on all your pay stubs it has $26,000 annually.

Do they owe you money?

In 2002, I was in a crappy situation. I won't get into details, but a roommate screwed me over by not paying her share of the rent & I didn't make enough money to be able to pay out both shares. (plus, I had literally no other options for housing/a place to live) Back then, I was literally making only $5200 gross per YEAR...so sad. So in the end, a judgment was placed against us by the landlord and now it is on 1 of 3 of my credit reports.

This happened 5 yrs ago. I paid the judgment(in full) less than a year later all by myself. Since then, I've tried really hard to establish good credit & I've paid all my bills on time. I have no other bad marks on my credit reports except for several credit card 30day latenesses from 3yrs ago, which was essentially a domino effect from the money loss that I experienced from this judgment.

How much do you think this judgment is pulling down my credit score? When will it drop off? It's only on Experian.

I want a new pair of shoes, I was going to purchase some sneakers on my credit card, the interest in 0% till december 2007, my next bill isn't due till 11-4-07, I would have it paid off by November ecause I get paid twice, this month 12 and 26.

So would it be irresponsible to buy them on my card, since I don't have the cash now. I would sped on 80 on them.

I will shortly be purchasing a car and will need a loan of some sort to fund this. Which way is better:

To have a personal loan for £4000 over 2 years at a rate of approx 7.9%

To have a Halifax Credit Card for £4000 with a 12 month 0% on purchases deal and then 13.4% after that expires.

I would hope to of paid off a good chunk of the deal within the first 12 months and the credit card would allow me to pay off as much as I can afford whereas the loan is a fixed monthly amount.

What I was thinking was using the credit card to purchase the car for £4000. For the first 12 months I would pay off £300/month - £3600/year. That would leave £400 at 13.4% which could be paid off easily.

Am i thinking along the right lines ?

Hope you know what I mean, any advice ??

I want to purchase an online dating service that only allows you to view messages if you pay, but then cancel the subscription after I read the messages. Will that show up on the credit card bill as paid and then refunded? or not at all?

We were given a personal loan. We signed everything. We were written a check and cashed it. Then, we find a letter in the mail saying that we were turned down. My guess is, that this is a mistake and to just ignore it, but has it ever happened where someone is given a check, the check clears and then the bank pulls back their approval? Can they ask for the money right back? What if the money was already spent?
