My boyfriend put me as an authorized user on our store card, and it appeared on my credit report. Now, the good thing is of course, that as long as payments are made on time, if this continues, then it shows positive history. But my question is, is this piggybacking? Isnt that deleted now? And if so, then why is it showing on my credit report? Obviously, adding more good history is NOT a bad thing, but Im a little confused?

My spouse and I both work and we earn a decent amount ( between 32-34K each a year) but we have this enormous amount of old debt. We would like to buy the house we are renting (owner is renting with option to buy) in about 2 1/2 years but with our debt it is impossible to even think about buying a home. We can't even finance a car, much less buy a home. I am at my wits end because I am tired of the situation. I feel that we earn enough to pay something but alot of these companies want full payment. I don't want to go to a debt couseling program because most aren't reputable and I haven't met one person who has completed it. I just don't know what to do, my spouses car is now dead and I can't get a car financed nor do I want to. We already have a high car payment and our monthly bills. We do have money left over every week I mean, we buy everything cash. And we always have money in the bank so I know there has to be an answer. Please help us.

We have not heard anything about a bill for at least 10 to 11 years and now all of a sudden they say we owe money. How can that be when our credit report has not shown the debt and how do I keep them from messing up my good credit rating?

I am being charged $25 for a missed doctors appointment that I didn't make. I believe what I did was call around and inquired with doctor offices, but I never made an appointment and now I'm receiving a bill for Oct 11 @ 330. I called MY doctor and I was at their office on Oct 11 @ 300 so there could have been no way I made that apt. I had the MY doc's office fax that info to them and the woman at the one that I "owe" money to is very rude and nasty. I have came to the conclusion that I rather pay a debt collector that this office. So my question is, will a debt collector take a fee for as low as $25 and put it on my credit report. I'm not paying that office because of the incredibly poor service I received.

in order to help my daughter avoid bankrupcy. (Not asking for parenting advice here, she will have to earn this money.)

So I told her to ask the collector to call me, which he did. At work. (Not a problem in itself, but the resulting turdiness was)

My initial offer was 50% of the total bill, which is a little more than the original credit card balance. I would go a little higher, but he told me it was non-negotiable and 80% is the only offer.

He was EXTREMELY rude and told me it was my bill, I'd run it up anyway. (It is not.)

So how do I go over this jackass' head? Do I go through Capital One (the company) or the collection company (NCO?)

I know they have a crappy job, but being a jerk to somebody who owes you nothing tends to get you NOWHERE.

How can you get your credit rating better? if you have been on debt for 6 years & not made any payments & avoiding then debt collectors then i assume the credit rating is bad, so if you file for bankruptcy then the credit rating is still bad right? if i dont file for bankruptcy but also never made a payment to my current debt can i still get another card? can i still get a mortage? etc.

My credit report shows duplicate credit inquiries, made on the same day, from a couple of creditors. This is obviously a mistake and these inquiries should only show once.

I wrote TransUnion and they asked me to write the people making the inquiry to fix the mistake. I thought it was TransUnion's responsibility to fix mistakes in my report! Of course I will write the creditors, but am I wrong to think that TU should be the one fixing this? Whose responsibility is it to fix these types of mistakes?

I have a judgement against a person and they quick claim deeded the house to their husband to avoid me taking it from the judgement. Is there a way I can tie this individual back to the house and be able to do it on my own without the use of an attorney. Any help would be greatful.

Thanks

I have a number of revolving credit accounts (credit cards) that have always been in good standing while they were open, but have been closed for many years (ranging from 1997-2004) yet remain on my credit report. Even though they are marked as "closed at customer request" in the remarks, they still appear, while others have fallen off. I looked over Equifax, TransUnion and Experian's sites, but couldn't determine why some would fall off, and others would remain, if they are all and have always been "paying as agreed" while they were active (eg. there aren't any negative hits that would make them stay longer than others).

2007-10-30 05:28:37 · 8 answers · asked by bearbear 1

I was denied, they said that the credit reference agency provided them with a bad report(or words to that effect). I can understand this as I have bad credit from 6 years ago.

They also mentioned that I could see this information but on the sites FAQ there was no help. Like I said I have bad credit from a few years ago and still owe a bank money(I was young and stupid and couldnt see past the end of my nose/let alone looking to get a mortage in 7 years).

I want to sort this out but need to know where to begin and really want to be able to see my bad report so I can try to rectify it. So how can I do this. I dont have a credit card anymore for obvious reasons so if a site asks for this I cant provide it.
