Have you ever called Discover to request that they STOP sending you their checks? I've called them twice and made that request and both times I was told it would take a month or two, but that they would stop. The first call was about 18 months ago, the second was about 6 months ago. I seem to be getting a book of checks almost every week! I would be willing to bet that at least half of the shredded material in my office trash can is Discover checks and the other half is other Discover related material with my account number attached!

What happends if I pay to the credit card after I buy something from 3 days ago then buy something 7 days later and send the money in and I keep building this - negative amount that I have soon I may go over the 30 % avilable credit and still be in the - negative owled?

Do I wait untill 12/04 what ever amount tha I will O by that time.

And will having a balance of say like $40 with a min of $20 a month be the same or worse than having no balance for that month for my credit score?

We are trying to clean up our credit scores and are about to come into some money. We know we need to pay off some debt, but are unsure whether to pay off old delinquency's or if it is better to use that money to pay off my current credit cards. My credit score is fine, but I don't like having any debt. His credit score is not very good at all, but I'm not sure how much paying off the old delienquency will help.

what would be the best credit card for me to get?
ive never had one and i dont know all about the tricks and such
i mainly want one to build credit, im not going to go crazy and end up in debt, or at least thats my plan :)
so i guess i want one with obviously the lowest interest and no annual fee, i dont really care about the limit
any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Just curious.I heard that the average person carries about a $7,000 balance. How right are they? Also, what do you use your credit card for?

Are they legit?

Does it damage your credit to go through these guys since they lower your credit card debt and your insterest rates? And accumulatet them into one payment?

I would think it would because it shows you need help....

Has anyone gone through one of these non profits?

Thanx

I have been saving $200/weekly for a new car (I have one thats working fine now, im looking to get a Totoyta Prius next year sometime).

I have $1,000 saved up already...and go figure our washer & dryer went. We found the pair we like (Whirlpool Duets) and the total cost is going to be about $1,800.

So i'm kind of stuck in a dilema. I'm really proud of myself for saving up the money.. and right now i have one of two options:

1) I can use $1,000 cash as a payment. Then the remaining $800 will be split up ($400 on my credit card, $400 on my fiances, each with 18% APR *which we can actually pay off within a month or two)

OR

2) Use credit cards only, $500 on my fiances and about $1,000 on mine *we have SOME cash to put towards this*

Do i sacrafice what i've saved for a new car and get the washer & dryer to keep what i put on my credit cards low? Or do i use my credit cards, because i worked so hard to save up the CAR money (NOT washer & dryer money haha).

THANKS.

I have 3 credit cards that I am trying to pay off

I have 2 credit cards in the $2,000 range
I have 1 in the $500 range

Would you try to pay down the lowest or the highest debt first
I am tempted to pay the lowest first just because it'll be eliminated faster but I'm not sure if that's the wisest choice.

I pay $77 dollars a month to the $2000 credit cards
and I pay $20 to the $500 credit card. I have an extra $80.00 that I could be putting towards a creditor each month. The interest rate on the $2000 is about 10% and the %500 is I think about 8%.

With that said any suggestions

Are there any suggestions of how to do so, drastically within a short period of time? I am currently between 530-560. I have been paying off my debts over the last 5 months, but I only have 2 doctor bills on there and the rest are revolving, good-standing accounts (car payments, 3 credit cards).

I intend to put down maybe 2000-2500.

I got a furniture bill back in 1997. It was charged off in 2000. and was removed from my report. Now the debt is showing up from a new collector with a new date opened of 06/2007. Is this legal to start me all over again? I thought derogatory items has to be removed after 7 years. Is there anything I can do about this?

We have applied with one lender. Our home is paid for, our credit is excellent our debts are low and income is very adequate for the amount that we would like to borrow. The lender came back with 10.7 interest. Couldn't believe it we qualified for 3.9 interest on our depreciating truck purchase that we bought this time last year. How is this interest rate figured? I thought being a secured loan and also great credit there would be no problem of getting around 6.5 Could someone explain this? We do intend to shop further. Thanks in advance.

I have about 5,000.00 dollars of a BoA Visa that appears to have been sent to a collections agency. I am 25 and make about 29k a year so i am on a shoe string budget. Would it be better to take out some kind of small loan to pay this debt off and then repay the loan or go through a debt management plan or debt consolodation plan?
