Is there an american express card where you only have to pay a minimum balance and not the full balance?

Problem: Went out to a strip club Friday night, let myself be taken into the Champagne Room for more then $2000.

I didn't realize how much I had been charged until Monday morning, when I looked at my online statement, and then called in to protest. Problem is they can't do a chargeback since it was a debit payment and the club refuses to void or reduce the transaction since they have card imprints, signatures and a copy of my drivers license.

My contention was that since I was too drunk to remember signing, and they assisted by serving me more alcohol, then my signatures can not be held as legally valid.

I have the option of having the bank file an affadavit to regain the funds or launching a civil case in small claims court with myself as the plaintiff attorney. I intoned to the club owner by phone that such action would very quickly make her defense of the case more trouble then it was worth. They laughed.

So do I have a legal chance even in a low cost annoyance suit?

This is in Wisconsin.

My brother was involved in a car accident a few months ago. Neither he nor the other driver got a ticket. No injuries, minor damage to both vehicles. Other driver claims my brother was at fault (my brother claims the opposite) and has come to our house several times to talk to him. My brother was never home, however.

Today my brother received a bill from a collection agency, with the other driver named as the person being owed the money. I'm wondering about the legalities of this. My brother never received any legal-related communications--that is, no judgement against him, no contact from a lawyer. Can an individual like this other driver simply go out and hire a collection agency to try to get the money he claims he is owed for the damage to his car? Should my brother dispute this in any particular way? What would happen if he didn't dispute? That is, what could the agency do in its attempts to get the money?

If I return an item I buy on my credit card, does that lower my FICO score?

Also, if I set a single credit card aside so that all purchases on it are purchases that I plan to return, will that hurt my FICO score, or my relationship with the issuer of that particular credit card?

I have a bunch of negative, but unfortunately accurate, items on my 3 credit reports. They range in amount from a stupid little $28 to a whopping $6300 auto loan that is from 1995. What do i pay off? What do I dispute? Who do I contact first - Credit Bureaus for dispute or Creditors/Collection Agencies for settlement for removal? Will they really remove it from my reports? Do I deal with the the original creditor or the collection agency that is reporting it to the CRAs. My total debt is only about $11000, do you think I can turn my credit around? If so, how long do u think it will take? My scores are in the 540 range.

Current credit:
1 CC always paid on time never reaching half of available credit.
1 consolidated school loan always on time, and paid according to plan
I have rented an apartment and have had bills in my name NEVER late

Credit Marks: (unpaid)
1 large account (late 2003)
2 small accounts (late 2003, will negotiate payment on these first)
5 or so inquires due to starting utilities, apartment, and application of a credit card / car loan

Credit Scores: (Bad?)
Ex 627
Trans 664
Eq 630

Questions:
1.If I request validation of the debt , does this restart the SOL (TX 4?)
2.If I attempt to request validation or try and negotiate does this restart the 7 years?
3.Can a score of 700 or higher be attained in a reasonable amount of time with my current situation, and would it matter with the marks still there?
4.How bad will my score be affected NOW if I attempt to renegotiate these collection items ?

My sister-in-law had an account that went to collections in 2004. She fought and debated with them for 3 years, now they're threatening to put it on her credit. I told her that they may show the original 2004 collection date instead of showing it as a new collection. She's concerned that it will show as a new collection instead of one that's already 3 years old. She says the statue of limitations is 5 years in her state, so she's thinking that if they show the 2004 date (when it was originally placed for collection), that she'll have a better chance of it being off sooner. I may have given her incorrect information. Anyone have any input? Thanks.

A family member asked me to join on to their account as an authorized shopper to assist them with their errands and shopping needs. Now years later, their credit card bill is in default and the credit card company is attacking me. Is this legal? What should I do, or what can I do?

A few years ago I had surgery. I had a herniated disc in my back for years, then when I graduated and was cut off my parents' insurance my Dr. decided that I needed an operation. A lawyer told me that it would probably still be covered because it was a pre-existing injury and I wouldn't have to pay. This wasn't the case and I now have $15,000 worth of unpaid bills. I had already bought a house and new car with my fiance, and can't afford to make any extra payments. My credit is not good. I was told that the score is fine but it looks as if I have $15,000 worth of bills due every month, and I never pay them.

Should I declare bankruptcy? What will look worse in about 8-10 years when I try to buy another house or car; having a bankrupcy on my record or having the unpaid bills still there? Even if i did try to pay them off it's gonna take at least 5 years and I'm told it will still show up badly for years afterwards.
