also, the transaction hasn't been confirmed yet. could it have been swiped as credit or something? Thanks for answering.

Many debit cards can be used in "credit mode". In restaurants/fast foods, it saves a lot of time. Don't worry , nothing to worry about.

Yes a debit can be swiped as a debit or credit card if it has a visa or MC logo. It is not actually a credit transaction though. It will come out of you account just like running it at debit. The only real difference is that it cost the merchant more money to run it as credit.

Many Debit cards have an association with either Master Card or Visa... This does not mean they are credit cards, but can be used at places that don't take debit cards, but do take credit cards. The funds will be taken out of your account just like they would with debit transactions...

some companies dont have the option to input "debit" on their machine so it runs thru as a "credit" transaction it will take it out of your debit account though.

nope I work in collections and take payments over the phone.
some debit cards never ask for the pin while some do
it is not a unnormal circumstance
