I've had 2 defaults on late loan payments last year. Also, i got fined by the magistrate for not paying a metro (train fare) penalty ticket which i've been told can affect my credit rating. I've paid off my credit card and loan now, but acording to moneysupermarket.com my rating 'needs improvement'. How do i do this? Do I just have to wait till it gets better?

I was granted two credit cards when I was 17, being a 17 yr old I maxed both-ended up in collections. They're now paid, one was settled. Is it possible to have these account records removed from my credit report because I wasn't legally supposed to have them? Would it be benefitial to even remove it or would that take my scores down due to having less history?

My husband, in the past week, has charged $2,500 on his credit card, for stupid things like a Nintendo Wii, the Matrix dvd's, a $100.00 haircut at Toni&Guy, etc. etc.

How can I get him to realize, if you don't have money to pay for it, don't use your credit card!?

This is my first card and Iam a little confused and have a question
I just got my card a few days ago since then i have spent $5.60 and my limit on my card is $500.

Well tonight i went to the store went to put gas on my cc just $8 and it was declined. So I just came home got online ans my account says this-
Total Credit Line $500.00
Total Current Balance* $5.60
Total Available Credit** $0.00

So what does this mean? why was it declined? could it just have been a malfunction in the card machine? or what is it?

(I have a 3 year lease, I am in my 3rd month,) If i pay off the entire lease now, will my credit score improve?
Or will paying on time every month help improve my score?
Or does it matter as long as i pay it off?

Is it possible to get a business loan, a consolidation loan and a home loan all in one? I'm not talking about a million dollars. Overall the total would be in the 150-200k range. I have good credit and am current with my bills. The official loan would be a mortgage but will they handle lending of this nature.

My credit card was about $10 below my limit. BofA added $80 in finance charges which put me $70 over my limit. They then added a $39 over-the-limit fee. Surely this is illegal, I just can't find a reference. They REFUSE to remove the charge. I have no way of figuring my finance charges in advance because of the highly technical and convoluted way finance charges are figured. BofA admits that I can't figure them and just advises me to "guess". My next question is why is my limit X dollars if really it has to be below that to keep them from adding a over the limit fee...

will using my bank checkcard (debit card) help build my credit if I use it as a credit card when I make purchases (when you go to the stores they ask you if you want to use it as credit or debit) so I just wanted to know. Well thanks in advance :)

ok i am trying to apply for a credit card, since i have no credit, i need to build some up.... i was looking at orchard bank, and they want a down payment of your choice of $200, $500, and i think $1,000.... is that more like a pre-paid card more than a credit card? if i paid $200 for my down payment would that be my spending limit?

Basically my issue is this...I applied at a bank, they denied me the job because I have a charge off on my report regarding a repo/forclosure of a home. Now, not that the companies care to find this out but, at the time my husband and I made ourselves available to the leinholder to resolve the issue, we'd give them all info they wanted when they called but would never return our calls when we'd try to contact them. We didn't even get far enough to get any kind of system set up to pay off the account before we began having issues contacting them. How can we be expected to fix something like this if they won't talk to us? And how fair is it that a company won't hire you for something you have no control over? Especially if it's a company where they don't handle large sums of money and you'll be touching or have any access to company funds. It's a receptionist position for goodness sake.

Has anyone ever gotten any phone calls from a Burgess Law office for a debt. I did and I paid it off and now the lady said that since i set up my payment plan with someone else it is and not her that it is void. I told her that noone told me that and that i tried to call her and she was always out. She told me she was out for a medical emergency and I told her that was not my fault and she hung up on me. Now I can't get her back on the phone to figure out what the heck is going on and I don't want them to start taking out more money that we agreed on. They are killing me.....

I have a collection agency that I have been paying $80 per month to for nearly 10 months. This is an agreement that I made with said creditor and have kept the agreement, never missing a payment and never being late. Recently, I have received phone calls from said creditor asking where i work, who I bank with, my address, and other questions. Do I have to respond or answer these questions? I have kept my end of the agreement, and wish they would just leave me alone and let me continue to make my payments every month, on time!!!

I recently paid off the last of my school loans because I intend to buy a new car soon and wanted to have my other debt out of the way before I take out an auto loan. As the information has come into the three credit bureaus, I have watched my Experian score drop six points, and my TransUnion score drop a whopping FIFTEEN points! (News that I've paid off my loans has not made it to Equifax yet, but I'm already braced for the drop.)

What gives? I don't understand why I'm effectively being penalized for paying off my debt.
