A couple of weeks ago on the fox or CNN news there was a story about a man who started a company for people w/ bad credit to buy good credit. What he was doing was finding investors w/ a good credit rating to have a person w/ a bad credit hx to sign them up as a co buyer on credit cards in return the buyer ultimately ended up raising his credit score. It was considered to be legal, but credit companies wanted it to be made illegal. What is the guys name who started this company or the name or website of this company? Does anyone know any information on this subject anyway?

I was applying for a credit card and told them that I was working for my dad, since he is a manager in a company. But I'm not actually hired there but my dad just needed help. He pays me though for the hours i helped him. So, will the credit card company call at my dad's work?

A lawyer's office has called and said that they are putting a judgment against my husband for a CC. I told this company the same thing as the ones before them. The account has already been paid and it's off our credit reports and we have proof of payments. We were told that it didn't matter because all they would credit us was what we've paid them and the company before. Which I told them to blow off and not bother us again. Then someone else called a few weeks later and said that they were doing a judgment no matter what. Can a judgment be placed against someone without them knowing and is there a court hearing involved? I would love to go to court against this company so we can prove that we have paid this account. I was told that there would be no court date, that it was beyond that. I'm worried that a judgment may be placed without us knowing and not being able to fight this. This account has been sold to so many collection agencies because we have proof that the account is paid.

Just wondering about that and how it stays on your report.

My husband and I have been working on our credit the last three years and have had no late pays. (that we knew of) We just went to apply for a loan on our first house, and there were 2 late pays on our credit. One for Aug and One for Sept from the Same company, Conn's Appliances. Apparently, there was some confusion when my husband paid the accounts. He has an acct with Conns and I have an acct with Conns. Each acct has a late pay- one on his acct for Aug and one on mine for Sept. He apparently paid one account twice showing a late pay for each. So, now we have this to deal with before getting our house.
Can I dispute this through the credit bureau or should I try calling the company directly. My loan officer said that if he had a letter from the company stating they would take it off, that would be all I needed.
Any advice would help.

If I pay the balance in full, are many collection agencies willing to remove the mark on the credit report? Any ideas or suggestions on how to go about beginning the process, and websites with sample letters?

I can't find much information on the website. It says you get £180 free credit...on a contract mobile (equivalent to £10 per month). Does that mean that your line rental is £10 cheaper per month or you get an extra £10 to spend per month. Is is £10 per month or £180 over your contract length?

My car broke down recently and I need to buy another one, but I can't afford to buy one right now. I'd have to lease or finance, but I have a business credit card that has 0 APR for a year, so if I could charge a car on that card it would save me a lot of trouble. I do need a car for work everyday so it would be used for business purposes; I'm just not sure if I'm allowed to charge one on my business card since it would also be used for personal reasons.

my 34 yo step daughter is getting a divorce and moved into our house pending her final decree.
she has had lousy credit, 2 bankruptcies, and her previous job required her to have a checking acount to deposit her paycheck; her soon to be ex had an account that she previously used but did not have her name on the account. my husband was able to have his bank open an account for her, but as of today after 2 months she has managed to bounce at least a dozen purchases from what appears to be from her debit card; the fees are now at 36.50 apiece; most of the purchases were from $10 to $25, so the fee makes it even more stupid.
1;at what point would the bank shut down her account?
2; other than taking off the over-draft on her account, what can we do?
3; i have read that credit "help" agencies are no good or charge exorbitant fees; if not, please suggest any that you might recommend.
4; or, possible either her father, mother or myself be put on her account so we can oversee?

pmts have been excellent on the mortgage a few late pmts on phone or cable but nothing out of hand... we want to re-fi this month but I forgot to mail mortgage (due on the 1st paid the 26th when they called) are our chances for a decent rate ruined because of this 1 late pmt? Is it worth calling the morgage co and begging for some type of "pass" as far as reporting/pmt history?

I owe $800 dollars and not sure if I should pay them or let the account go to collection. I also have a bunch of other debt I been paying off. I talk to my debt settlement coach thats handling two of my other accounts and he says I should just let it go to collection instead of paying min, so I can seek a settlement.

I have $26,000 in total debt. Now $25,000 of this money is from student loans and the remaining $1,000 is for my computer account. Now, I have never missed a payment on either of these accounts. Would this work in my favor because I am paying these accounts on time. Do companies look at this as a good sign? On my credit report with these 2 accounts I have a credit score of 710. Should I be in a rush to hurry up and pay these accounts or just keep them in the positive and never miss a payment?

Thanks for your time. Only adult and mature-minded comments and answers please........

The debt is spread over 2 cards, the most on an American Express. I've used the cards for paying rent and other living and school expenses that my student loans didn't cover. I've had the cards since 2005 and the balance has been increasing some each semester. I haven't ever missed a payment due date, but I usually pay just a little over the minimum amount due (which for the Amex is now around $120, the Mastercard isn't bad, it's just $15). I stopped using both cards this summer because I didn't want to add to the debt. I've tried getting a job at a bunch of places, but my school schedule makes it hard to get a decent one. Even after 3 or 4 months of making payments though since this summer, it doesn't seem like the balances are decreasing much at all. There's some finance fee around $80-$90 that takes away most of the payment I make each month. How can I get things under control? I need a job. I've stopped using the cards. But nothing seems to be going right so far.

This site claims to remove:
Late Payments
Charge Offs
Foreclosures
Judgements
Repossessions
Personal Identification
Closed Accounts
Negative Settlements
Liens
Collections

They said that in some cases they can remove bankruptcy with a 35% success rate. They offer a full refund if you are not satisfied with their service. They also said the negative items on your credit report don't come back.

I know it is never a good idea but we have hit an all time low. There have been some horrible issues that have happened to us and our family and this is looking like our only option.
We had a son born very prematurely and the hospital bills are CRAZY (that was 2 years ago, we paid them down but they are still crazy) my husband health insurance was and is GARBAGE!
Then we bought a house while we were selling our old house and the buyer at the end fell through so we had 2 house payments for 1-1/2 years.
Then we had our second child which was an emergency c-section and he was hospitalized for 3 weeks because he was breeched and footing and his leg was injured.
And just a million other little things happened.
Is there any other way out????

I've had a part time job now for 11 Months. But I got a second full time job last week that I enjoy better. I want to quit the part time job. Will it hurt my FICO score when I quit my part time job that I've had for almost a year? Does it matter who employs me so long as I'm employed through the eyes of the Credit Bureaus?

Or would it help if I held onto the part time job for at least 1 full year then quit the job?

RE: Creditor

Then it goes on to say that they are writing about a debt to Midland Management (a debt I originally had with an Exxon mastercard in 2002). The amount they want is 335, and my balance is 841.89 (the last settlement offer amt) but does not directly say that it will be considered closed. What is this? Are they getting ready to sue me?

Ok let me start by saying i am here to get help not scolded. I am helping out my sister (and no it wasnt her who did it). Ok, My sisters identity was stolen (well borrowed) by someone she knows....and that ran up some things under her name. What i would really like to know is how she can stop it from happening again. The person paid her back and everything is ok now. But she is worried that it will happen again. She has talked to the cops and she doesnt want to get the person in trouble but she does want to make sure it does not happen again. What can she do? I know there is the 90 day watch she can do. But we also heard of locking her social security number or changing it. Can that happen? And most of all can it happen without filing a report.
