here is the thing... my mom has this credit card and she has a balance of $2500. She stoped paying it because she can't afford anymore. However, the credit card sued her and when she saw that she has to go to court, she called them and settled with them for $100/mos and the toatal came out to $3600. Over the phone my mom said yeah yeah yeah i'll settle with you. When the papers came and she saw what the amount came to, she does not want to pay... i have to questions: 1) what could happen if she doesen't pay...?
2) what can she do now ?
please help

I was given a check from a friend and I was told it was going to bounce after I had already put it in. Will banks usually fine the person who entered the check ? I know they fine the person who bounced it but what about me?

okay I am planning on getting department store credit cards, and a visa or something I'm just 18 so I have no credit. How many months would you say it would take to build my credit enough to be approved for a personal loan? Assuming I pay the payments on time, and don't go in debt? Thanks for all the answers

I am really struggling to make payments on my credit cards. My credit score is already fairly bad, and I don't want to make it worse by making late payments. Would it hurt me for a long time to settle on one of my credit cards? If they do accept a settlement, what % should I go for?

Ok, I have this credit card that has this crappy $150 annual fee attached to it. The only reason I got it (and 2 others, that arn't AS bad) was to built up my credit.

Well, it seemed to have worked. I just recently got a card from my bank with a nice limit and no annual fee.

Anyway, my question is, when does the annual fee get taken out? 1 year from when I opened the account or will it hit on Jan. 1?

I'm thinking of paying it off to $0 and then cancelling, but, I'm not sure how much time I have to do it!

Thanks!

I have just got a credit card. to build up a good credit rating. I bought some things off the internet and took some cash out. It says cash transactions are charged intrest daily. i have got my statment and sent a bank transfer for the full amount that i owe.
But it takes five days to reach the credit card company. So does this mean that i have not payed my full balance as there will be an extra 5 days intrest for the cash? If this is so how do you ever pay it off, because it will be always take 5days for money to reach them? ARRRRRR MY HEAD HURTS>> HELP.

I was under the impression that once your debt goes to collection, it will stay on your record (credit score, etc.) for 7 years. After that, it will be erased from your credit and you will have "no credit" instead of "bad credit". I know this is what a lawyer friend told me like 5 years ago, but now I'm hearing that they changed this to 10 years on your record, and some even say that it's permanent now. Does anyone know about this?

We are a family of 3, annual income about $21k. We have about $5k in credit cards, $7k in medical bills, $14k in student loans, and $2k in miscellanous debts (utilities, etc.) As well as about $15k in personal debts that we intend to repay. What, if anything, would we be able to bankrupt? We live in Michigan, btw.

I was just wondering how hard it was to get a creit card from Davids Bridal, and if anyone knew. My credit is not good at all and I am trying to re build my credit. I am getting married in Sept so thought that this would be a good way to try and rebuild my credit, but do not know how they are on credit scores and approving applications. Any comments would be great! Thanks

I technically dont do either. I am living with my fiances parents until january, and then Im going to live in the college dorms. My dad recently died and the will says that his house goes to me, but we havent put it in my name yet. I still use the mailing address there, tho, and I have alot of my stuff at the house. Should I say that I own it? What difference does it make? I dont want them to think that since I own a home that I can sell it to get money or anything.

I have $3336.96 that I have a 23.74% finance charge on and $3179.76 that I have 16.74%. Both are on the same card and the principal will be applied the amount with the lesser finance percentage until that amount is paid first. How can I calculate the amount to pay combined to pay this off in 52 months? I had calculated what it would take to pay each amount off simultaneously but that isn't correct. My present answer is $189.72 per month, but I know that isn't right.

I would rather not have anyone know about this loan. The only living relative that I have would probably get upset and want to know what the loan is for, and its none of her business. What is the purpose for making me list one, and will they be contacted?

My husband and I recently obtained our credit reports. Much to our dismay, there are several accounts on his report that are either errors or were charged by his ex-wife without his knowledge. I need to know if anyone has a good dispute letter or a link to a site that provides a draft that will get some results. We are not sure how much damage she has done since she had access to his social security number and other personal information. Has anyone ever had success with disputing these sort of things? Thanks for the help!

the payoff is more than the value of the truck. My husband wants to give it back to the finance company (wells fargo), but what will happen to his credit? Will he be able to get another car/truck with lower payments? We have also heard that the finance company will re-sell the truck for a lower price and still charge my husband the balance of what he owed on it. We can't refinance, or trade it... this payment has become a huge financial burden, any idea's? (2005 Ford F-150 STX balance owed 21,000. Another truck was traded in on this one, with the balance of the previous truck added to this one)

I just got my first credit card about a month ago, but I was wondering if I should wait for the bill to come in the mail..or go ahead and pay it online now? On the website, there isn't even a payment due date yet..so I don't think it needs to be paid anytime too soon, but if paying it online will help my credit a little then I'll go for it. Thanks for any help

Keeping credit cards with high interest rates seems silly, when I am getting low introductory rates, and relatively low rates in the future. Will this change my credit score?
