okay I am planning on getting department store credit cards, and a visa or something I'm just 18 so I have no credit. How many months would you say it would take to build my credit enough to be approved for a personal loan? Assuming I pay the payments on time, and don't go in debt? Thanks for all the answers

I'm not sure, but I do know for a fact that questions like this may lead you onto the hands of serious scam responses like.. well, No need to mention. Make sure that anybody who contacts you and ask for a 'fee' before processing your personal loan be removed from your wish list. Do not get, in any way, involved with these individuals for all they do is rip people off. Good Luck

Depends on what the loan is for. If it's just a signature loan, you will probably need 2 years of consistent, on time payment history.

You can establish credit in as little as 6 months with a student Credit Card. Be careful though..there is a generally a high credit limit approval and very tempting.
