If you are renting from a private party, forget about it!

If you are paying rent through a rental agencies, then they would have to report it to the CRA's and that's only if they are willing to pay the fees.

Rent is not considered credit so therefore is not reported as a mortgage would be.

Remember: all those on line companies that promise to do things regarding credit, well most are just rip-offs and as you see, always require money up front.

Rent isn't normally reported to the credit bureaus. You can go to the credit bureaus directly to add creditors to your report but they will also charge a fee.

Frankly, I don't think rent payments will do much for your credit report. Rent isn't really an extension of credit.

it would be considered a non traditional trade and you would have to order what they call a credit supplement.
If you have your credit report then call the number on it and they can walk you through it.

i dont think you can because, when my landlords get my check the sometimes cash it and use it for things around the place and never let the bank know that you ever paid it. especially when/if you pay cash. But if you find out please let me know!!!
