If your bankruptcy has been discharged for more than 30-45 days and there are any still showing in collections they are incorrect and you do need to dispute them. This is actually a very common error for someone who files a bankruptcy.

Send a dispute to the Credit Reporting Agency and state that the accounts you list were included in bankruptcy and should have a 0 balance. At a minimum send a copy of the bankruptcy discharge letter, but you should also send in the paperwork that shows they were included. Remember this won't remove the accounts, it will just change the status to "Included in Bankruptcy" and a 0 balance.

When exactly was your bankruptcy discharged? Is the bankruptcy showing on your report? Do you have a copy of your paperwork and are these creditors listed?

You could file a dispute with the credit bureau that these were discharged in your bankruptcy. Won't help or hinder your credit score much as the items show in collections.

The old collections wil still show ,
But was there no mention of the bankruptcy ?
That should be on there , and will be for 10 years .
The date will show that , then the other debts in collection fall under the bankruptcy .

It takes awhile, but on top of that YOUR Lawyer who filed the bankruptcy should have asked YOU for the creditors info and contacted them with a letter... thats how it works!

Talk first with your lawyer, and if necessary write letters to the three credit agencies to dispute the errors. (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian)
