***When trying to build great credit doe sit matter how much you pay off each month or just if it's on time? For example, say I have a $10,000 Credit Card and I'm looking to improve my credit score. Obviously the KEY is making payments on time. The question is...WILL IT IMPROVE MY SCORE MORE IF IT WAS A LARGER BALANCE BEING PAID OFF EACH MONTH?

I ask because if my credit score will improve a lot more because of paying more on the card, I am thinking about paying rent with it. 700 bucks a month being paid off in full compared to gas at 50 bucks a month.

DOES THIS MAKE SENSE???

HELP!

My husband and I got ourself in debit. First off we put off paying our mortgage for a few months. And finally got a letter saying that we were put in to forclosuer. We took a title loan out on our only vehicle and went to the bank to pay off. However the bank said it was to late. And said we needed to contact the lawyers office to make the payment. So we contacted them as well as another company that helps forclosuer that would loan us the full ammount of money needed to pay the lawyers and bring us current and regular with our Bank-Another loan. SO now we have to pay our regular house payment of 800.00 our title loan payment of 800.00 and our 2nd mortgage of 400.00 This will be for the next two years and will leave us pretty much broke each and every month. I want to refinance and pay everything off and just work with 1 payment, my husband doesn't. One reason is credit. HELP! I need all the advice about this situation as I can get

My wife and I co-signed for my brother-in-law and he has messed up our credit. My wife has one report under her credit and I have several. Is there anyway to clear this up other than wait 7 years? can lawyers help? if so, how much do they usually charge for something like this?

I am taking out a loan to considate my credit cards. Is it better to pay off those with a higher interest rate first? If so, where does the money go first, to the higher or lowest rates. (for example, if I only pay a portion of a bill). How will this affect my monthly amount due? I'm thinking of paying off the ones with the highest payment (for example, my car loan payment is $250/mo., I owe $1800 on it.). Paying this off completely now would get rid of a big chunk of the outgoing money. I'm just confused!

My debt was validated with the collection agency. So I sent an offer to pay in FULL for DELETION. The collection agency responds with a letter wanting my home address and phone numbers; with no aknowledegement of my offer. Weird.
The collection agencv only has my PO Box and that is it.
What should I do?

I have a secured credit card for $200. It is new so I haven't made my first payment yet but its due 8/4. It says minimum payment due is $15. I have $154 available, I was thinking I'd spend about $50 more. But here is where I'm unsure..

It is correct that I pay the full $200 back right? Also, to help build my credit how much of the $200 should I be spending a month?

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

I want to cancel my AMex gold charge rewards card next year because it has an annual fee, and it's a totally useless card. everything needs to be paid in full, and its benefits are ok, but nothing other cards dont have, and its rewards points program is a joke, being that I can buy items 100000 times the quality.

Anyways, I tend to keep cards around even if I don't use them, that carry 0 balances, because this is better than closing one, but if I chose to close it, will this affect my score negatively and if so, by how much and how long?

Not sure if this rates more dangerous than inquiries, late payments, or delinquencies.

Also I only have a few cards 3-5, yet I'm noted as having like 15+ accounts open, and realized thats from loans, etc.

Anyways, is this bad? To have this many different revolving accounts? It's shocking because I do technically only have like 4 credit cards.

However I pay EVERYTHING on time, and am educated on credit, so I'm doing the right thing.

Suppose your credit score is low... say about 450 and you file backruptcy. What would happen to your credit score? Is it possible it would increase? Is there a situation that could happen? Or would it bottom out? What do you think? (or know)

So..after making a settlement payment which was supposed to end any more collection attempts, I get another invoice asking for the remaining balance.
I call their accounting department and they tell me that they never sent out any such settlement offer but they did receive my payment. the operator, who wont give me her name, tells me that she can offer me a settlement offer right on the spot though.
I tell her I already received a settlement offer and paid it. She told me to fax a copy of that settlement in and said that the agency would know what to do.
I'm feeling a bit nervous about this..seems to me like something fishy is going on here.
Why would they have no record of the settlement offer being sent? What should I do? Thanks!

Yeh, My dad is always saying "Save your money in a bank account." I tell him that I want to open an account but I want a way to spend that money anytime I need to without paying a visit to a bank. Then I thought about debit cards. Do you have to be 18 to get one?

Last year I let my mother-in-law use my credit card to pay for two of her kids to go to an EF Tour it ended up costing more than $3000 she said she'd pay it off w/in a year but she's been only paying me the min $100 a month and it's getting no where, I still owe $2500 on the card, how can I get rid of this debt. She blames me for not telling her that the interest would rack up, but made her aware of everything before I charged it. Now she tells me not to tell her husband since she was the one who ruined HIS credit, What do I do, I know I was stupid for trusting her but how can I fix this?

He wrote up a contract to repay me within 2 weeks of the loan, expecting a big compensation check that never came in time. He was in desperate need to buy a truck, tools, etc. No will, no savings account, no credit card. He has a sister and fiance that say he owed them money too. He has a 17 year old child, they say he gets the truck that I bought and I get none of his possessions. What do I do? New York State, USA.

Hello everyone,
I am looking to start the process of improving my credit report. I don't think I want to do anything like Lexington Law because most of my stuff is really mine so I don't see them "getting rid" of it. I was just wondering where do I get information on who I write or contact to have some older stuff removed and a few things that are on there twice removed? AND I had heard that if it was reported over three years ago its better to let it fall off than to start paying on it becuase the report date will then show the date of when a payment was made to a collection agency and it may have been better to let it just come off the report in a year or so. Any input will be apprecitated
Thanks
