Is a joint credit card account one where each account holder has a different card and the charges on each are applied to the same statement/balance? Would the numbers on the cards be different/same?

I have received a credit card from the ANZ bank stating I had been successful with my application. Only problem is, I didn't apply for it or for that matter even have an account with that bank. All I had to do is activate it by using the supplied number, it didn't tell me what my credit limit was either if I was to activate the card. This can't be legal, just imagine the amount of debt people could get themselves into this way.

Hi,

I have 3 credit cards that have a combined total balance of about 2100. I am desperate to pay these off asap. I have been trying for 2 years now and have not gotten very far. Is consolidating all 3 credit balances to another card a good idea? Would I only pay one the credit card bill a month instead of 3 and would it be cheaper than paying on all 3 every month? I saw this website http://www.bestcreditrates.net/?cont=details/details_page_27565_275332_3510.php&page_no=275332&prd_id=3510&applic_id=1069&COOK_VIS_ID=7d0e635f7482f4f341cb474eeebea76d&COOK_VST_ID=%2003e5ff91ea002090164f1ef4febb1456&COOK_LINK_ID=deleted&COOK_SPEC_CLICK=deleted&COOK_CL_APN=not&cl= (wow that's long sorry). Do any of them look a good deal to take care of this? I would have to pay off the balance within 12 months or a higher interest rate would kick in right? I need advice so thank you! Holly

My mom has bad credit soto boost her score would it be better for her to apply for a credit card and use it to her advantage by paying all the bills by the due date. Like will it show on her credit report that she is now more responsible with money then in the past to sum things up and begin to build her credit back up????

Me and my husband had a rocky start but after years of working on it we finally have it together....We now have 3 children and pay outrageous rent. Does any one know of a bank that works with low credit scores as far as home loans or credit cards....we make excellent money. All the bad in our credit reports are 5 plus years old. We have never had a credit card and figured that if we could get someone to give us one we could get something positive showing on our credit. We would also like to know about any first home buyers programs out there for people like us! Any advise/suggestions??

My mom is in debt deep and takes out loans all the time to either pay the mortgage or pay off another debt. Why do loan companies allow this, except for the fact that they don't care?

I shouldn't be worrying so much about this,I am only 16 years old.

But seeing how the people surround me fail to be successful in life and struggle so much due to bad credit, etc.

What are the main things you think I should know in order to maintain a good credit, perhaps besides paying all your payments on time or should that be the only thing i should be concern of?

I just want to feel prepared,I guess..

I thought medical couldn't hurt loans on autos. Is there a law that states you cannot be denied a auto loan because of medical? The loan is from the Honda dealer's private lender.

I sent a debt validation letter and they replied they will get back to me when they receive information.
Can they take longer than 30 days legally?
The FDCPA states they have 30 days.

I have one credit card and I'm currently trying to pay it off. I've been late on some payments so my interest is really high. I try really hard not to use it, but sometimes I need to. Even when I purchase something small, the interest makes it seem like I spent hundreds of dollars. Would it be better to get another credit card, pay my current one off with it, and start from scratch paying it off? Or should I keep doing what I'm doing?

I make 48k per year. Circumstances that have led to bad credit rating are a 60 day late car payment that occurred two months ago. The car has since been paid off. Credit cards are close to the max but always paid on time. Please only respond with a list of possible lenders thankyou.
