The problem lies with a car loan and a $5000 loan my fiancee co-signed for his sister. All his bills are always paid on time but his sister has been paying late or not at all on the loans. The two loans are the only thing that stand out as bad on his credit report. I pay my bills on time. I have one bad thing on my credit report, which is a hospital bill, and we have a car in both our names, which we pay on time. We are getting married soon and I need to know if it's going to affect my credit in any way. Could we still get married? Will they come after me if the loans don't get paid? Will we still be able to buy a house? I need to know cause not knowing is really stressing us out.

Both were based on my Experian Credit report. Citibank monitoring scored my Experian Score at 609 but Creditreport.com scored Experian at 651. This was only within a weeks time and nothing had changed on my report. How do I know what score a potential lender would see? How do I find out the most accurate scoring info?

I had some credit problems in the past and had some payments that were 60 & 90 days past due. This was around 3 1/2 years ago. The account was delinquent for about 6 months, the grantor closed the account, but I brought it to current and have been paying regularly ever since I brough it to current. On my credit report, the account shows as "closed by grantor" but "makes payments as agreed."

My question is - can a debt be sold to a collections agency in this situation? That is, "closed" but being paid "as agreed"? The debt is about 4K.

Thanks in advance.

Does it hurt your credit score to have several credit cards, even if you do not hold any balances?

I had a contract phone with orange that would only ring for 15 seconds, I got lots of missed calls , I work in a noisey place and asked orange to turn my answer m/c off, and extend my ring time, thay said I was on the longest ring time of 30 seconds ? I stoped paying , THIS IS A SCAM by orange to make more money and should be STOPPED . AS I WOULD ENEVIABLY return my missed calls and orange get the money Has any one else been unfairly treated like this

Like i know when you have bad credit usually you have to pay more for things in the long run such as a cell phone they may ask you to put down a safety deposit before issuing service etc......but if i were to apply for a car lease with less than perfect credit am i just looking at a high downpayment/interest rate or is it very possible that I may be denied the lease all together?

I owe about 35,000 in stafford student loans (17,500 subsidized and 17,500 unsubsidized and want to lower the interest rate. Right now it is at 6%. I'm still in school but at the current rate I am being charged about 3.00 a day interest on the loans that the the government isnt paying the interest on. I've heard of consolidating but I don't really know how it works or where I should go to begin or even if I can consolidate since I'm still in school. Help!

but how can I get out of paying my car payment for instance without having a bad mark on my credit? I may eventually have unemployment come in but that money will go towards more important things like gas, food and other bills.
This eye injury is not work related. It's due to a contact lens solution that should have been pulled from the shelves before being sold to me.
Oh yeah...I have tried to call my auto finance company and I have had different responses. Some have said that I can skip one payment and then have it added to the next few payments afterwards and another person said wait until the loan's six month's old and call back then. This is a new load that begun in this february.
This eye injury also has me restricted to light duty work. As a result, I cannot return to work even under light duty. I would love to go back to work even as sensitive to light as my eye is.

I have quite a few blemishes on my credit report. Most are due to come off within the next 2 years.I have nothing good on there now.If I can at least get up several up to date accounts with timely payments will it improve my credit score even though there will still be a couple of bad reports left on there even after the two years when most will be off?I'm on a two year plan to improve my credit though I know it still won't be perfect. It would at least be nice to start getting lower interest rates again.Possible mortgage within the next 3 years I am hoping.Suggestions as well as a direct answer to my question would be appreciated.

My husband and I are very young (19) and don't have a lot of credit. The only thing we have is our monthly house payment ( we rent) which is 800 a month, utilities, and my wedding ring payment. No car payment, loans, or anything like that. We are getiing a credit card and we are going to buy one big thing ( probably a big screen TV) and are going to put the card away and pay that off over a few months. He has a good job ( he is a firefighter) but we need to build some credit.
So my question is: can someone explain to me about payments on a credit card ( how much?, every month? weekly?) and what a good card company would be for us? Discover, visa, Capitol one, American express???

Like many others, I screwed up my credit as a younger man. I made a few mistakes, and cleaned up as best I could, but I ended up with a ~1200.00 charge-off that was first opened on 09/2000.

I know the seven year statute means that it was supposed to age out in March. I pulled up my Experian report today, and it says it will expire on that date.

However, I then pulled my Equifax -- which did not have this account on it before, and now it says that this 1200.00 account has been first reported on 06/2007! That's three months after the expiration date, and now it will run for 7 years!

I live in NY -- is this legal? Can I force them to remove it? HELP!

A friend told me you can buy old aged credit lines on the Internet to improve your FICO scores. You never actually get the cards in the mail. It's usually a broker that has clients that have old American Express cards from 1970 in perfect standing and they add you as a user so you inherit their good credit. Is there any truth to this? I'm sure the pitfalls are what if the person stops paying? Then you're out of luck I guess.

We bought a car 6 years ago. After 4 months the whole front end fell apart. we told the co. that we wanted them to pick it up, because it is unusable. They turned us over to the credit bureaus, as a repo, knowing that the car was a lemon. how can I get the negative reports off of my credit bureaus? The company was ugly duckling.
