If you go into the Ameridebt website, you'll see the following message:

Unfortunately, AmeriDebt is no longer accepting new clients.
However, if you are looking to get help with your debt,
you may want to consider 800CreditCardDebt.com

Ameridebt has been under attack for deceptive practices by the Federal Trade Commission and several states. Regulators and customers allege that Ameridebt deceived its customers by charging high fees and operating as a non-profit concern while its real motivation was to make profit for its founders. The chapter 11 filing came after a settlement of $8 million in a class action suit was tentatively approved by an Illinois state court. Of course, that $8 million won't go very far considering there are 500,000 customers that have been ripped off by Ameridebt. The Washington Post reports that the FTC has objected to the settlement on the grounds that even if half of the 500,000 potential class members file a claim, that would result in a payment of a maximu

I am looking to obtain a TRIMERGE and IN-DEPTH FILE of my credit report, not a snapshot. I mean like the ones used by loan officers and mortgage companies. I live in Atlanta, Ga. Any clues? This is for serious answers only. I'm trying to accomplish a great goal...credit clean up. Thanks.

US Bank.

I verified that it was unauthorized.

Question: do banks call proactively like that?

This is a first for me. Plus, I checked the internet account, and the charge wasn't reflected there.

I always assumed that you had to check your transactions yourself for suspicious activity.

ps: I gave them no personal details like account number or anything like that. They just told me they would cancel the card and send a new one.

I was just busted for possesion of marijuana. I was not arrested and only given a ticket. I am 24 and this is my first offense. Will this affect my credit rating and/or my ability to get loans? Thanks.

For the past 2 years I have had 1 credit card. It is a no-annual-fee card. The credit limit is $ 6,000. Almost every month I charge 4 or 5 small purchases on this card. The card never has any more than $ 500 in charges on it. I always pay off the balance at the end of each month. I have never paid any interest or fees because I always pay it off as soon as I receive the statement.
Will this practice cause my credit score to increase, decrease, or will it have no effect on my credit score ??? Yes, I realize there are many other factors that can cause my credit score to go up or down.

so i can attract more lenders it keeps telling me to put
Max. interest rate: and it has to be between 1.00% and 9.60% if i put more down it gives me this message..........

Your interest rate is LOWER than the average interest rate for borrowers with your credit grade. Your listing is not likely to be funded unless you get funding directly from friends and family.

Your interest rate is above the maximum interest rate allowed. Enter a rate at or below 9.60%.

My credit is poor and it has been at a stand still for at least 4 yrs now. I had 2 accounts that went bad when my financial situation changed so they were cancelled and now I do not have open credit accounts and cannot qualify for new ones! What can I do? I know about secured cards and that is something I am looking into but what else can I do? Do cell phone companies report to credit bureaus? Any ideas????

I recently recieved some of those balance transfer checks from my credit card company for 3.99% until the balance is paid in full. There would be a $75 fee. My auto loan is 7.2%, would it be a good idea to use that check to pay off my $12,000 auto loan so I could have the lower interest rate?

They seem to sell it to someone new and then reage the debt. To begin with the debt is something that is not at all accurate. It was an electric bill from 4 years ago and my account was wrongfully transferred to someone's else's address after I moved out of state. (I didn't know) I had a balance on it but didn't pay because I found out they kept adding more to it from a wrong address. They didn't believe me that I was not living there. Now they have messed it up even more. How would I fight this in a validation letter to the Credit Bureaus? Do I say it's not mine because it's totally wrong or do I say it's mine but very innaccurate and listed twice?

Several years ago one of my parents decided to add me onto their credit card as a joint holder. I'm only finding out about this now, because I'm reviewing one of my credit reports and see this account listed on my report.

I was totally unaware that I was even a joint holder on this account. Plus, I never see in the mail any statements from the Dillard's credit card either, so I was in the dark about all of this for several years. So far the account is in good standing and there haven't been any late payments or any of that, but still, I don't want to risk being on this joint account that I don't even use and don't even have a card for it, so I don't even know the numbers or expiration dates on the card.

Not that I don't trust my parent, but I don't want to take any risks. Is that even legal to have them put me on their credit card as a joint holder? I would have never agreed to do anything like this. How do I prevent something like this from happening again? They need my permission!
