That is a bad thing to lie about, especially if they will run a credit check. Credit checks are made based on your name, social security number and date of birth.
So the credit report will either come back as no record, meaning no credit or you could be a fraud, or...
The credit report will come back with the correct birth date, making your lie very obvious and making the people ask what else you were wrong (dishonest) about.
It is against Federal law to discriminate against age, so you shouldn't worry about that.
The one thing where it could be a real problem, is if you lie because you are under age. If you get a loan or merchandise based on signing a contract you cannot, that is fraud.
So you may want to, but it is silly to.

First of all, this would be fraud and it's a crime.
Now my turn for a question. What do you think the lender will do when they pull your credit bureau report and calculate your age from the birthdate and it doesn't match?

Your credit is connected to your social security number. They will find out the truth.
