A bank draft is the same as a check. Buy anything you want as long as the one you are buying from will accept it. Some stores take checks for example, some do not.

please clarify the circumstances, including the country where the draft is/was issued and where you are.

the general answer is that you likely can only deposit such a thing -- a 'draft' in the banking system is something that isn't good money until the firm/bank on the other end 'accepts' it [accept means ponies up the cash for this specific piece of paper].
