So my gf is in texas and she heard on the news that pigs are going to start suing gang members even if they are just hanging around on a street corner not doing anything. They are going to do that in Frisko too! What is your responce to that? But my question is can they really do that? If they are not doing anything, isn't that like harrassment? Or racial profiling or something?

I've been looking online and the highest paying job is in the medical field. About 150,000, im not saying that that is too small but my mom and dads combined salary will be that in the fall and we live in house worth 215,000. we baraly have enough at the end of each month. how do people who are just like that own a million dollar house? yeah saving but when people have a 9,000 dollar mortgage payment and they are getting a 7,000 dollar monthly salary. i dont understand it. I was thinking a good job was paying 200 - 300 thousand year, im really confused!! what should i be when i grow up?!

I have been at a company 4years. I have had a medical problem that I only communicated to my supervisor, but have not ask for any special situation, no additional time off, and glowing reviews with raises & promotions, never written up for anything, numerous service excellence awards. Then I get an infection and have to go into hospital (not directly related to my medical condition) and while I was away in the hospital (short term disability for just about 2 weeks)I supervisor announces in a meeting to everybody what my medical condition is. Glowing review dated 7-29, manager says I am getting a merit increasebut on 8-3 HR calls says supervisor says there is "deficit performance" what exactly is unknown. Now I doubt I will the merit increase I was told on 7-29. I was wondering what recourse I have now that they wont what me because I am sick, even though I never needed or ask for anything different than anybody else. How can they tell everybody?

Can they fire me because I am sick?

this question is for a routine job, where you do same thing every day as for a postman where his job is sorting mails every day. so it became somehow boring as it's repititive job.
so if you can help me with the above question i be so greatful.
thanks.

As a non-unioned employee do I have any expectation of rights or fair treatment (aside from flat out abuse or discrimination)?? Or can a company terminate employment at their whim or move your job to another state and not provide relocation assistance?

I hate being stuck in an office. I don't know everything but I know a little about a lot. I love money, the night life, the lime light, beautiful people, exquisite food, fine wine, casino's, and tropical places. What do you think?

No stupid replies just to get points, please.

Do employers who would refuse to employ somone on the basis of

Interest in ROCK (metal, nu-metal, emo etc),/PSY Trance(rave) music with the coloured radical haircut/tattoos etc to go with it.

Maybe they are into swinging, an ex pole dancer or porn star.

Deserve their company to go bankrupt or clients reject them as not basing their choice of employee on the base of:

Brains.

Skill

Qualification

Experience.

Talent

Passion for the job

Niceness

etc

Logical thinking

Rationality

Crerativity

Problem solveing..

Being prepared with back ups so can deal with things when they go wrong

Having the right equipment to do the job

Ie what I deam professional

But instead on image. Oh and a pole dancer could get staff fit with morning work outs and a porn star should be good with cameras. Not to mention an ex lap dancer should be unbelievably effective at selling to blokes

I just wanted some thought about interviewing with the same company again. I had an interview with a big 4 accounting firm a year ago but it did not go so well. It is a year later and interviews are coming up again. I am a college student about to graduate and the big 4 accounting firms usually do a lot of hiring in the fall. I am applying for other jobs also but I really want to work for the big 4. I plan on getting my CPA which hopefully would open the doors and increase my qualifications more.

I have worked the same dead end job for 6 years. After 2 and a half years without a pay raise they finally gave me a 50 cent raise a month ago, which IMO was a slap in the face after 6 years of service and many broken promises and excuses. I felt like they never really treated me that well, even though we got along OK on a personal level.

I have already enroled in college and am going back to school in a few weeks. I am really nervous about how to resign as I can see an altercation with the owner who is a bit of a hot head. I want to quit the right way, but I feel like I owe them nothing more than the bare minimum.

What is an acceptable way to put in my two weeks without starting a fight? Has anyone used a letter of resignation? If so how do you deliver it in a way that is professional???

My dad recently went for a job interview and he will hear within two weeks if he will be called back for a second interview.

Now usually, he sends a thank you letter. However, I told him not to send one until he receives a call saying he has a second interview and then after the second interview, send one.

What do you think? What should he do? Any advice would be great!

Thanks! :-)

I'm 17 years old and I've been working at this place for a month now, and I've given thought into putting in a 2 weeks notice but I have way too much to do before school gets here. I am scheduled tomorrow and Sunday. Is this letter okay to give to them tomorrow? I don't need them as a future reference, that's why I don't mind quitting without the 2 weeks.

Attention: Manager

Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to work with you and ____. I apologize for the short notice. Unfortunately, the demands of preparing for school prevent me from continuing to maintain my current work schedule.

Regretfully, therefore, I must hereby offer a notice of my resignation. My last day with ___will be August 7th, 2007.

It has been a pleasure to work with you and your team at ___. Thanks again.

Thanks,
_____
