I was an onsite manager for a staffing organization, typically hiring warehouse workers. We drug tested people on site . I agree that it is a little weird, but the test was easy to perform.

I would look into it further. It could depend on what type of job you are applying for. For example, a nuclear tech has certain levels of radiation they can be exposed to. That amount changes when you are pregnant.

However, they are not allowed to use pregnancy as a factor in hiring you. It is a protected category.

Anything goes now a days. Wouldn't surprise me though. Well wait, it would be terrible to learn you were pregnant while applying for a job.

I'm pretty sure that it would be illegal to perform a pregnancy test on an employee.

If you are pregnant they don't want to hire you and add to the medical insurance bill.
