I just quit my housekeeping job at a hotel where I was getting paid next to nothing and cleaning 20+ suites a day in 95 degree weather. I am sick of working so hard (as in, manual labor). I am not lazy, but I am going back to school this fall and need some time to study. There are plenty of job opportunities in this city, such as newspaper delivery, pet bather, small retail stores, phone reps, and I was wondering which sort of part time jobs would be a good idea. I have 7 years customer service experience, mostly in restaurants, and I have mostly done bartending, cooking, and cleaning.

For me personally, I am married to an Active Duty Service Member. Because we are constantly on the move, I need my "work" to move with me.

It is so frustrating that I spent so much money on acquiring my Masters and I can't even get a job to pay back my student loans.

Seniors are qualified, but it's hard to find jobs that match our skills and abilities. It is said that companies want to hire seniors because we are reliable, but we find it hard to find those jobs, unless we want to make only minimum wage. What's up with that concept?

Why don't companies send a letter or email to the people they have interviewed to let them know that the job has been filled? It is very stressful to wait for two or three weeks and hear nothing back from the companies. I send a letter of thanks after each interview but the companies don't seem to have the courtesy to inform me when the position is filled. I email them one week later to let them know I am still interested, yet they don't even respond to the email with a note saying if the job is filled or not. I have heard this same thing from other people who go to interviews. Is it the new practice of HR to just ignore the people after the interview? Why would they think this is acceptable to job candidates? Is there anything I can do or say at the interview to encourage them to let me know?

Do people not understand how hard the mathmatics of being an RT is and how much responsiblity you have? Intibating someone is not a piece of cake, neither is figuring out PEEKs or Ventilators and dealing with antagonistic, antigens, cholenergic receptors, etc....why would people assume it's simple? It's VERY hard!

Been looking for another job. Why do employers ask for supervisor name & number on their applications when all they are required to do by law is ask for my end/start date and my duties? They cannot ask about my personality, pay, if i quit or got fired, or if i was ever a bad employee right?

So why do employers still ask for last rate of pay and want to know my supervisors name and number? I usually give them the 1-800 number to call and get verification.

And why would i tell them my REAL last rate of pay? Wouldnt that prevent me from asking for a higher rate? It has in the past so i'm going to start lying about it and add a couple thousand dollars to my "last rate of pay".

I'm interested in all kinds of things but do NOT want to go to college so don't suggest it. I live in Ohio and would like to move to Los Angeles in a couple of months. I'm getting in to power tools and have thought about building things like chairs, bookcases, etc but I want to know other careers or ways to make money without college. I'm going to direct movies but I need something to do before that.

If someone has really bad hearing loss in one ear that prevents them from hearing everything people say. Then should they let their employer know about it? Also what advice would you give them about rude customers who become short because they can't hear them because they're too quiet for their good ear to pick up the sound or the person isn't speaking clearly to be understood? I just think it's wrong for anyone to be rude to the handicapped and slightly handicapped people. No matter the reason. Because it's not like they can help it.

"Hello doctor, I've been having pain and discomfort in my entire body daily for about 5 years now and some days it gets so bad that I can't get out of bed. I have my "good" days but most of the time it's hard for me to function in daily life and I can't do all the things I want to do. I also get headaches, SEVERE period cramps, lightheadedness and fatigue. I get sharp pains in my stomach and back that sometimes bring me to my knees. I'm a pretty tough 22 year old, but have cried several times from the pain and feeling helpless. Also, over-the-counter meds like Tylenol and Midol don’t help me at all" - Berry

"Here's some Paxil." - Doc

"Hello doctor, I've had serious stomach problems for about 5 years including sharp pains, discomfort, frequent gas, diarrhea and constipation. I eat healthy most of the time and don't eat fast food. I think my stomach problems have resulted from my teenage partying phase where I drank and did drugs. I have quit these bad habits but have continued to have problems." - Berry

"Here's some Imodium AD.” – Doc

I feel these doctors don’t take me seriously and they just hand me a useless prescription without running tests, asking me questions or even giving advice about diet and exercise or what could be causing my problems at such a young age. Are my problems too complicated and they don’t want to deal with them? Do they think I’m lying or imagining it?

Where can I find good healthcare with a caring doctor who will take me seriously and actually try to help? In the meantime, I’ve been self-medicating with Loritabs for over a year because it’s the only thing I’ve found that has eased my pain and made it so I can function and have a normal life.

I applied at Coffee Bean a couple of weeks ago,so I called to check my application and some woman picked up saying the manager was busy making calls. She took down my name and number and she said,'I'll tell him you called after he's not busy'.But the manager never called me back.Would it be okay to call back again and ask about my application? Or would that be bothering them and making me seem desperate? Help! I really need a job, =(

How should I answer for the interview if I would be ask of why should I leave my current job? In fact, what's true is that I want to leave because the salary is too low and I am searching for the company who has a good pay. But I think I can't say this to the interviewer of the company that I would be applying. So, what would be the best answer if ever. Thanks, I would welcome your positive suggestions regarding this matter.

I know this might sound like a dumb question, but I am just wondering. I just got a new job and I can't find my ss card any where and believe me I have looked every where. I know that I can request another but it takes 10 business days to get it and my first day is tomorrow and they expect for me to bring it in. So what is the worst that could happen if they have to wait for it. I really need help with this one cuz Im goin crazy here.
