I really really really want to be a vet and can see myself working as a vet and i know it would be an awsome career but im worried about the hours you have to spend working because i want to be able to see my family(when i have one) and have a life outside work. Is it possible to be a vet and do other things as well. Also what exactly are the hours worked by any vets you know of

it depends where you work. Now adays there are many part time vet positions available. And many that are full time, but you work a normal schedule. However some practices expect alot from their vets and you will be there very late. Some practices see their own emergencies so you could get called in at night. If you plan on owning your own business then that is a ton more work. But if you look, you will be able to find a job with normal hours.

Ask some vets! If you have a pet, ask the vet these questions next time you take your pet in. If not, go into some vet's offices (well-dressed) and ask if someone will may an appointment to talk to you about how they schedule their career and family.

As in any professional career, you may need to put in many hours during the early part of your career, but as your career matures you can schedule time for other things. And to get into veterinary school you have to be excellent at science and biology. As a vet, you have to be able to do things like determine when an animal needs to be euthanized, as well as treating a puppy for the sniffles. If you're prepared emotionally and mentally to do all these things, you will be a good vet.
