I quit my job after 11 years, and have not found my niche yet. Did I pre-jump the ship, should I go back? Or say goodbye and just move forward.

I dont have a degree but I dont want to have to work 2 and 3 jobs just to make ends meet. Is it possible that I can have a prestigious career just like those with a degree. Can I have the same job they have. Does it really matter as long as I can do the job or work. All a degree is, is just saying that you know and can talk about the field you got a degree in.

Ok like I already stated i'm 15 but like I'm wondering is there any jobs I can get just sitting at home at my computer? With school starting I'll be way too busy to get like an actual job, and things will be too hected to find a job that can accomidate me with good hours. So since i'm a internet nerd and all I do basically is sit at the computer all day why not get paid for it?

Like surveys (THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR)
Definately not those offers because that's so crappy!

Anyways......
People please give good answers!!!!!!!

I'm 18 in Hemet, Ca. Highest honors graduate and a student at ITT tech. I have applied all over for a job and have got nothing. The closest I have gotten were a few interviews, 2 of which (Edison and Sears) said I was perfectly qualified for the job, and i still didnt get it, whats up with that? Edison said I was the only applicant who filled out everything perfectly and said I was exactly what they were looking for. I've tried everything from calling to walking in always asking about open positions. What else can I do??? I have no official work experience, cause I can't find work!!! I'm limited to part-time work due to college. I've tried internet job searches and everything I can think of. Heck, I applied 4 time to mcdonalds and didnt get anything!!! I don't understand, what the heck do I need to do? what more can I do?

I love organizing, design and decorating. I have no formal training in any of it but if HGTV gave degrees I think I would have a doctorate, as well as real life experience solving real problems with real money. I have a good eye but no real sewing or building skills. I am an excellent bargain hunter and shopper and I am very creative and crafty.

I am in the helping professions right now and facing burnout. My jobs have always been therapy related, and oddly enough, in some way it has always been in someone's home...nanny, group homes, homeless and women's shelters where my organizing skills were greatly appreciated. But the meat of my career is listening and caring and helping them meet their own life goals.

I don't think it is such a far stretch really, do you? I don't really want to freelance or run a home business...would a design firm hire me? I'm not thinking about a froofroo company, I would want to work with real people in real spaces, emphasis on the pretty but practical.

Recently I sent my CV to another company in the same industry. Someone who works at that company is a friend of my boss and called him and told him about having seen my resume.

My boss told me that his friend had dimed me out and now he is making veiled threats about firing me because he "can't depend on me being there in the future".

I live in an Employment at Will state, so I assume I have no recourse against my company should they terminate me.

My question is - was it illegal for the person who saw my CV at the other company to dime me out to my boss? Does a person have a legal expectation of confidentiality when they submit a resume in confidence?

I work in a very small industry where everyone knows someone at just about every other company so it's difficult to search for a job discreetely. However, I'm a manager myself and it's always been my policy that while I may inquire about someone, I NEVER call their current company for fear of jeopardizing their job.

I had my tooth pulled this morning because my jaw has been aching all weekend. I called the dentist this morning and was lucky to receive an appointment for today.
My boss was very mad at me for calling in because another employee called in today.
So when I got home I called her to let her know what was going on and she said she had had a tooth pulled and its no big deal and I should try to come in anyway.
Thing is I had another problem. The dentist tried to pull a second tooth and failed because I wasnot able to be numbed enough and it hurt. Now I have the second tooth half pulled out and it hurts terribly!
I took the pain medicine (Rx) and I feel like I will be out of it at work.
I agreed anyway to go in for the afternoon and now my family is angry with me.
My husband says I should have stood up to her and said "no I would not come in at all today".
He says I shouldn't have called her and given her the chance to talk me into coming in.
What did I do wrong?

It's just a factory position, so do I need to dress fancy? It is also going to be 90 degrees out, so black pants would be real hot, and I'm not a skirt kind of person. Any suggestions?

For those of you how have hired middle level management or are in HR. I have changed jobs about every two years for the past 6 years. I am in manufacturing. Each company that I have worked for has gone through plant closings and slow downs while I have been there. I have never lost my job but there has not been any room to move up either. I am now in the process of interviewing with a company that has lots of long term employees. I have a job that I have been at for 2 years. I am looking because they are asking me to move to another plant a very long way from where I am now. I am 34 with 3 kids and a stay at home wife. Now, the job that I am interviewing for is the #2 guy at a manufacturing plant. I will be talking with the plant manager sometime this week. He is a 30 year employee!! My biggest obstacle is my job change history. Any advice on how to overcome this?

I have a job interview tomorrow, something that I have not done in a long time because I had my own business. It's with an a/c and heat company here in Florida and the job is for office help. I'm not sure how to dress- their business is in a commercial warehouse- seems pretty casual. I don't want to over dress, or under dress. Casual pants and shirt? Nice black jeans and casual shirt? Should I only respond to questions and not volunteer other info? Any feedback will be appreciated-

Hey,
I filled out an online application for walmart, which was really long and pretty detailed on what I have done so far. Well, they called me to set up an interview.
Do I need to bring a cover letter and my resume? I thought they were supposed to help you get an interview, which I have.
What should I write in the cover letter? The application was not specific on which position I was applying to.

Thanks.
