I have an interview tomorrow (finally!!!!), and I read that you have a better chance of getting a call back if you write a post interview thank you letter to your interviewer. What should I say in the letter?

Dani,
First good luck on the interview! Second, on the post interview thank you note I would suggest you write it by hand to make it personable, and depending upon how you “feel” the interview went I would acknowledge by name the people that interviewed you. If you are uncertain as to how well you did that acknowledgement should be by “Mr./Ms.”, etc. Otherwise feel free to reference just their first names. This kind of a “sandwich” effect if you will consider opening statement as “Bread” = Thank you, second statement as “Lunch Meat” = reference the company by name and briefly state any opportunities that you realized that were not readily provided in the advertisement you answered, finally “Bread” = final Thank you.

Use this as an example:

John, Jane, Mark, and Joanne:

I want to thank you (“all” if more than one person interviewed you) for the interview that you provided to me on (date/time) for the position of ________.

The “XYZ Company” is the company that I am best fit for and I look forward to the opportunities as you presented them to me during the course of the interview. Specifically I can add value toward the objective of ________ (saving money, producing a higher yield, etc) as discussed during the course of our discussion.

Again, I wish to thank (all of) you for your time and effort in discussing the finer points of this position.

Good Luck Dani! Keep us posted on how this went.

Sincerely,
Gerry

Thank you for your time
Reminder why they should hire you
Ask for the job
Remind how to contact you
IE:
Thank you for your time interviewing me today, I enjoyed meeting you and seeing your offices.
With my back ground as a electrical engineer I think I could make a valuable contribution to your company. Also I forgot to mention I have had some classes as an accountant so that may prove useful.
I would love to work for you feel free to call or write if I can provide any more information.
Thank you for your consideration.

The "well-known" way is a paper. no depend how lazy you're, WRITE a letter. shop it short, with basically 2 paragraphs. First, introduction. 2nd, the physique. Wrap it up rapid. My dad gets stuff like that. He would not even study the revealed ones. DONOT supply a private touch, it is like buttering. shop your writing hassle-free and that's adequate to grant it a grateful" result. A card is a contemporary. I cant even think of a card being despatched on your boss for something like this!. you probably did splendid in making a letter than a card. however the determination of a write/type letter fullyyt relies upon on you. i'd believe "tprtygrl", she did say "out of your way". Taking difficulty to thank. I by no ability concept approximately that. an prolonged letter(no longer boring) would additionally supply this result.

This is an excellent idea. Get a nice professional thank you card. Thank them for their time and consideration and how you look forward to being an asset to the company's success by contributing ________. If you can hand deliver it, it would be nicer, but not necessary. (Gives them another chance to see you). Dress to impress. Smart thinking!
