I worked at walmart for a week and Im still in my 90 day probation.I had a verbal warning already for taking 3 mintues more on my break and I was sick and I went home early that day and I had a day off the next two days and when I had to go back to work I called in sick since I was still sick. Do you think I failed my 90 days or they will still keep me?

And thats my first time calling in sick in my first week of work

Look for another job. wal-mart has strict policies, and unless they are desperate for help in your area you will be gone. If anyone that was just hired calls out like that on me, they had better have a doctors excuse!

Kids come out of school thinking work will be as understanding as school about illness and absence. That is not the case. Even a note from a doctor that your heart stopped and you had to be revived in the ER wouldn't be a good enough excuse for some managers. They would just say you should wait to die on your days off. They aren't teachers. This isn't school. They don't care about you or your well being. It is all about them making money and their business running efficiently. When people don't show up, other people end up doing twice the work and things don't run smoothly. It is a mistake to call in sick your first week of work.

It's probably best not to miss any work the first 90 days. Try your hardest to stay healthy, and if anything, go in sick. At least they'll see you're making an effort not to miss work, and will probably send you home if you really are sick. It looks bad to miss work your first week. They may give you another chance because everyone gets sick, and they'll believe you if you have a reputation of being on time and not missing days. Don't miss anymore work, or you will stand a chance of being let go.

First of all and most importantly, why do you want to work at walmart? Is it the low wages, or the fact that they encourage their employees to go on welfare because they don't want to give anyone 40 hours a week, just so that they will not have to pay any benefits. You should really consider these things and look for something better.

I'd probably blast my own head off with a shotgun if I was reduced to working at Wally World. I implore all the younger people reading this to go get good grades in school, graduate, and go to college. Then they maybe can be acceptable to work at Walmart as an executive (if that person possesses no soul and does not fear Hell upon death).

All depends on how bad they need you. if I were them, I would terminate you, you have only been there a week. If they do fire you, just go apply at another Walmart of BK or something.

If you get sick again anytime soon, they probably won't keep you. Maybe it's not your fault, but they need people who will be there to work when they are supposed to.

If I were your employer, I would not keep you after your introductory period.
