My boss' boss is bipolar and my boss is a yes man. My boss exaggerates the problems to show his boss that he is over reacting. Turnover is above 60% at my location. I have considered tendering my resignation with immediate effect (Casino Royal), but I would consider later employment with this company at another location. How incrediably wrong would this be?

It depends on your contract. If you have no contract, then most states allow you to quit with no notice. Employeers are also not obligated by most states' laws to give you notice. However, it is polite and customary to give two weeks notice.

Most bosses have say if someone can be rehired, even at another location. So give two weeks notice. Also , it might not look good to the new employer if you aren't willing to give two weeks notice to the old employer. They don't want you to do the same to them.

Regardless to the reason two weeks is adequate. You might need their endorsement in the future.

2 weeks, unless you signed a contract that says you can't quit or requires more time

It is appropriate to give two weeks notice when quiting a job. PERIOD.
