interview the 1st week due to people out of the office. I emailed early last week to see what the status was & I got a sort of abrupt resonse that she, recruiter, didn't know because she was very busy? Since then I have heard nothing. Should I assume that it's no longer an option or should I confirm that with her?

Today for some reason I can't seem to get in the work mode. Some days I do 10-12 hours of work. Other days, like today I say screw it and hop on the internet to Y!A and other sites including new job sites. How many hours a day do you do actual work and why? Do you have work to do you just dont feel like doing, or do you not have any work and are just bored?

I'm a 20 year old, currently living in Italy. I work for a little company in the Lumber Industry and do the Purchasing in America. I've been working with them for a year and a half now. The problem however is that the pay is really bad, and i've been looking all over for a new job, but it is REALLY hard here to find any good paying jobs!! What i would LOVE to do is move back to the states and find something there. What I'm not sure about is what field to go into, or what types of jobs i could get without having a college degree. Can anyone help me out with some ideas?!

A colleague has worked at a company for just 6 months and now works flexi-time when they choose, is allowed time off in lieu and is allowed to work from home when they choose. Nobody else in the company is allowed these privileges.

Their reason given is this person "works long hours, has to travel a long distance and doesn't get paid over-time", yet all staff members work long hours when required, one other staff member travels in from the same town, and no over-time is paid to anyone. So the reasons are irrelevant.

What is my standing on this legally? Are employers obliged to offer this to all members of staff?

been looking for almost 6 months now.

i even applied at walmart and at the newspaper packing papers, but have not gotten anything.

how do i get one? i never in my wildest dreams thought it would be this hard to get a job after i got out of the military.

i got a job before but had to quit because of cancer, now after treatment they won't hire me again, another job i applied for i am not medically cleared to do because of blood tests i have to take.

radioshack told me i was over qualified for a sales position there and wouldn't hire me.

what to do?

i looked and scanned all the companies and job websites, i have sent probably over 100 resumes out. i feel i am stuck with no way out no matter how hard i try.

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone has been able to claim unemployment when they quit their job. I have a list of reasons why I am quitting, but the main one is the reduction in pay. I have made almost $10,000 less in the last year than the previous year and I can't afford to work their any longer. I was told before that there are certain circumstances where you are eligible to receive benefits, but nobody has been able to provide me with a concrete answer about this reason.

Thanks

I was involved in an employment matter and obtained a lawyer who seemed credible at the time to pursue the matter. I signed a contract that required a percentage of the winnings, yet he required me to pay for disbursements and other costs. Anyways, i've paid out around $2000 and he has requested more money to keep pursuing the matter and I've decided to let it go. He has followed saying that he is going to bill me at an hourly rate less what I've paid.

I'm I obligated to pay him, and If I do not what repercusions would I face?

I got a degree in Business Admin. with a concentration in Accounting, started working and realized I don't care for the job. So I am reevaluating things and thinking of changing careers. For the most part I hear people do completely different jobs from what their majors were in college anyways. I am curious to know if you guys like or hate your jobs and the reasons why?

My temp agency sent me to what I've realized is a dream-job.
The employer just loves me and have offered me a position full-time. So far so good, right?
Well, alas the agency is asking for close to $10,000.00 from the employer, if they want to "steal" me.
The employer is a small business and they simply don't have that in their budget. :-(

It's really sad for me because there aren't other businesses like this in my city and I just love this type of work. It would be perfect for me, I love the team, etc. But they just can't find it in their budget to slap down $10,000.00 - they're trying to find a legit way to keep me as I write this, and hopefully we can find a solution that's legit and not in violation of anything.

What if the employer were to "terminate" my assignment. Is there a certain waiting period before I'd be able to come back and work for the employer full-time, independent of the agency?
