I sent a resume to a potential employer and they want to know why I want to leave my current position. What should I say? I have been on my current job for more than a year. The reasons that I am looking are because of low morale, low pay, and no career advancement.

I have an associates degree in office information systems, which I think is basically the same as computer information technology. I'm continuing my education to get a bachelors in either management or communications, but in the meantime, I'd like to get a part-time job, utilizing my associates degree. Having that degree, I'm sure that I am qualified for almost any clerical position, but I was just wondering if anyone else had the same degree, and where they are working. Or if they know of any other types of jobs that "go" with a degree in office information systems. Thanks!

As far as I can tell for nothing important. So far today, his wife has called 3 times, 1 son 3 times, another son once. I always answer the phone, sometime waiting until the 2nd or 3rd ring when I can see on caller id it's one of them. He doesn't answer the phone & leaves it up to me. Why is this do you think when he can also see the same caller id??

One of my co-workers has a daughter who is 13 years old. She sends her daughter to private school and is very protective of her. She talks about her a lot.

My daughter is 15 and lives with her Dad in another state. I gave him sole physical and legal custody duriing the divorce.

I feel sad because I can not do as much for my child as she can. I live in another state.

I listen to her speak and don't say much about my personal life. This is a contract job and I don't want to reveal much about my situation.

I just try and change the subject and talk about neutral topics. I don't know what else to do.

I know that if my co-worker found out that I left my daughter with my ex-husband and did not fight for custody, she would be apalled. She said that she lives for her daughter and still "gives her a bath."

Its painful for me to listen to because she also has a good marriage.

what does this mean? I said i wasn't going to be able to work untill the 25th of this month, but some people told me that they usually just throw away applications and i should call and ask for a "status of my application" ? Should i call them? It's been one week. Or should i call them after the 25th?

For example ... my sister gets a review at work 1 time a year .. If they do the reviews in April and she gets a .50 cent raise ... they backdate the raise from January 1st of that year. Because technically the raise is for that whole year? do you get it? Does your work do that?

im really curious because at my work we are supposed to have reviews in February but its now MAY and we haven’t got them ... so im trying to figure out if i get a raise if they will also back date to at least February (which is really when the raise should have taken effect)

note : the reason im asking on here is because im new at this job and i dont quite know how reviews work and so on ... and im too shy to ask my boss

Thanks for sharing!

I can't find what i want. I want a overnight receptionist job. So im thinking of placing an ad in the paper that im looking and to pass the word for someone to call me. Do you think thats silly? I think it will catch someones attention. All types of people from different companies look for a job and they might have an opening. In which case i just want them to call me and let me know. I was thinking of putting it in the classified section. Who knows someone might be quitting there job.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in History and have been in the full-time workforce for four years, holding two different positions in that time. I've grown frustated because I can't seem to find a job I like or attain the earning potential I desire.

At this point, I feel like I earned a degree in trivia. Going back to school for a different Bachelor's would make my previous time and money spent in school a waste, and wipe out the savings I've accumulated over the past four years.

Any advice?

Hello, I have these 2 women (temps who will got permanent in a month) I work with that are nothing but trouble! They go to the boss and make false accusations and feed the boss all the office gossip. Needless to say the bosses love them. They do everything together b/c they are afraid to be confronted by someone in the office ( very few people like them) they go to the bathroom together, the copier, save seats at mtgs, and if I am in the hall they will wait till I am gone to walk out. The same goes for the parking lot…its just crazy I have never seen such crazy behavior! I have had limited contact with them and don’t really work on a close level with in the office yet they are always looking to say something!!! I see them and I seriously can feel my blood boil. I was revenge, I want them out, I want to fight back!!! Help! Any suggestions are needed! Have you dealt with this before?

I am currently reviewing our On Call Procedure. We don't have anything particular in place and wondered if any of you have any guidelines in terms of:

If an employee is on call and attends a call before he/she is due on shift how do you allow for the fact that they may be due on shift within a few hours of that call?

We have had some queries from employees about whether we should be adjusting their shift start time if they have been on call.

I would be grateful if you have any information that you can share with me.

A friend of mine has withdrew from a couple classes twice in the past two semesters, he will be repeating the classes for the third time this coming fall. The classes were College Trigonometry and Chemistry 101. He needs both of these for his major, electrical engineering. However, he feels like he'll never become an electrical engineer and that he should just drop out of college because he didn't do the way he wanted his first couple semesters of college. Should he drop out of college, or can he still become an electrical engineer? He's in a community college and hopes to transfer to a major university, his GPA is 3.85. Please help!

I am looking for a job at a local corporation. And in the job characteristics there are listed as grades E03 and A03 and whatnot.
are there the pay grades? and if they are, what do they mean?
E03 is for one that sounds iteresting, but I do not know how much the pay is.

10 points to the one that can find me the answer, or point me to a website that tells it.
