what does this mean? I said i wasn't going to be able to work untill the 25th of this month, but some people told me that they usually just throw away applications and i should call and ask for a "status of my application" ? Should i call them? It's been one week. Or should i call them after the 25th?

As I say in my interviewing book, there is absolutely nothing wrong with putting in a call and asking whether you're still being considered for the position. The important thing is that you don't want to be a "bother" by calling constantly.

It all depends on when they told you they would get back. If they told you it would be two weeks, then you shouldn't call because they've still got another week to go.

Either way, a quickie phone call to see if you are still in the running isn't bad nor unprofessional. And if they tell you they haven't made a decision yet, then ask them when you might hear something. This way, you don't bother them time and time again!

All prospective employers end your interview with that type of closing. I would call them to maintain interest in the position. Sometimes a decision can be made in a couple of days of you may have to suffer 3 weeks to complete the background check! you know: previous employment, sex offender database, criminal record, and credit check is included in background checks today.

you should def call them and follow up, ask to speak to the manager and say "hello we spoke on ___date and I just wanted to follow up and see if you had made a decision regarding my employment," if they say they dont know just reply with look forward to hearing from you and it was lovely meeting with you.

You call them - and call them - and call them. They either hire you or tell you to go away
