I work as a Section Manager for Waitrose, worked my way up from a Shop Assistant. Shop Assistants get marginally above minimum wage, with a full time contract being 39 hrs per week. Management starts at approximately £15000 per annum. For Branch Manager the scale starts at £45000 per annum. Pay reviews are twice yearly so you have a chance for two pay rises a year. We also get an annual bonus, which is a percent of our yearly wage. This year it was 18% which equated to about 2 months wages. Our John Lewis counterparts get paid slightly higher wages on the whole. Hope that helps!!
