I would really not suggest going, the school is expensive and unless you get a su chef position or something hard to get you will not make any money really at all, unless thats your true dream in life... then do it as a hobby...

As long as you love to cook its a good idea, but your first thing to do is try getting a job at a restaurant, and if you have to start at McDonalds go for it, not sure how old you have to be where ever you are from to start there. But after a few months there go apply for something better like a real restaurant. Just don't quit then start looking thats just bad for your record. And McDonalds has scholorship programs or something you could get a scholorship to the cooking school, wouldn't that be cool.
And keep track of the hours that you work in a restaurant as a cook, because that will really benifit you when you do go to culinary school. You need a certain number of hours to get the red seal, and gold seal I think is the next one, which helps you earn more money in the future. Its actually pretty cool that McDonalds hires teens it opens alot of doors for those people who aren't too self consious to work there, or people who think they are too good for there. I commend the ones who do, and just thin you will have more money than all your friends to either save or spend on cool clothes.

"ehh i kinda have no choice i really hate cooking too."
Okay, just making that statement tells me that a kitchen is NOT the place for you. You are only 13 (I have a sister your age), and you have time to really think about college and careers. If you hate to cook, don't waste your time or money going to a culinary school - it won't change your basic feelings about cooking. I saw too many people go through a culinary program who dropped out of the industry within six months because they hated to cook and went to school because their families said they had to. The school itself wasn't difficult if you did the homework and assigned readings, and paid attention to instructors' demonstrations.
Cooking really is a calling, like being a teacher. Either you love it or hate it - there's no middle ground. I happen to love it because I enjoy working with different flavors, textures and colors, and I take great pride in knowing that I produce visually appealing and good-tasting foods for my customers.
And don't worry about getting burned - doesn't happen if you pay attention to what you're doing in the kitchen ;)

The country is full of culinary school graduates that can't get a job, and it's only going to get worse. It's the hot and fashionable career without an increase in job openings.
If you want to do that for a career, then go for it.

You will have better success if you look at a culinary school like the Culinary Insitute of America, they are one of the best in the country and have an excellent reputation.

You're only 13, you'll probably change your mind. But if you really want to be a gourmet chef, keep practicing. But, don't set your mind on something! You're 13, you have plenty of time left in your life.
