both.

Both. Unemployment makes you document your job search activities anyway and you've paid into the system so get over there now. Every day you wait could add a week to start getting your benefits. You will not get much so you must kick your job search into high gear.

Ask for help at the unemployment office. They have TONS of free resources and quick help for you. Go hang out there and make some friends in the office. They are great.

Good luck!

I would start job hunting and go to your local Employment Office. Depending on the circumstances you may be eligible for unemployment, but in the long run it would be better to either secure employment or ask about free training which would allow you to enter a better paying field.

At the most, you only take in a percentage of what you made when you worked so I think working or training would be a better option. I was in the same situation 1 yr. ago. Good Luck!

Well, if it was minimal shortage, and you don't know how, be honest. As to how this can happen, explain that due to the shortage and your having to do the work of 2-3 people, you were feeling very stressed. The fact that unemployment approved your claim is a good thing, it means they investigated it and found no fault to you for the firing. So you can mention that you are currently on unemployment when they ask what you are doing now and that will indirectly let them know you were found to be not at fault. If you were at fault, the unemployment would NOT be approved. Hope this helps.

Both. It takes a while to process a claim. If you have found a job by that time, you simply tell the unemployment office. You might still be eligible for a payment or two. And you don't know how long it will take to find a job.

I would file unemployment for now and maybe find something you could do in the meantime. Like I started selling Avon at a time when I wasn't able to work and have beed selling ever since. Now I haven't had to return to work because I am making what I want right now which is about $250-300 which is great for me as extra income.
So just think about what you would like to do.

File for unemployment, but still go job hunting!! (It takes a while to do both.)

Oh, but I was watching this thing on Good Morning America this morning on how to get a job.

The lady said that one of the things you need to do is google yourself and see if anything comes up (good or bad).

Then, you should go to www.linkedin.com and create an electronic, professional networking type profile. Kind of like your resume online.

You file for unemployment first. Then you update your resume and start looking for another job.

Try and work on the reasons you lost your job. Look for something you will enjoy going to work to do.

This way you will have some income while you are looking for employment. IF your employer decides to fight paying you, that is another situation.

Both. Unemployment is money to help you with a little bit of your expenses until you are working again. If your unemployment is not enough, then go through temp agencies. Every little bit of money helps. Good luck.
