I was wondering has anybody ever gotten fired from a job? If so did you found another job fast? Did you new employer understand why you got fired?

In this day and age, who hasn't? And unless it was for something like theft or punching a boss out, it won't matter much when you interview..
I told my new boss , at the interview, I had a new manager there and he and I disagreed on many things.and i could no longer work with him. ,
I feel getting fired at least once is a valuable thing. . Why? I've seen people lose their jobs due to plant closings, who have had that job for 20 years or more. They got it right out of school,. They're devastated! They don't know how to handle it. People who have been fired learn a valuable survival skill.
I once got canned, end of July. Within a few daysI found another job, but it woul not be available until after Labor day.
I got 2 weeks severance plus vacayion and I could sign up for unemployment. I enjoyed myself for a month, and the job I found was so much better than the one I left,

I don't know...Honestly, to this day I'm unsure if I got fired or was just let go. I started working in stock at Hobby Lobby the summer before senior year, and kept going through the school year. It was alright at first, but I progressively grew to hate it and despise it more and more with every waking hour I spent enslaved in that hell!!! Then around March, we got a new coworker in stock. Let's just call him Tommy. Tommy may possibly be the most annoying person on Earth. The job was stressful enough alone, but when Tommy was there, he was just soo annoying and did nothing but got paid more than me and I went crazy!!!!! One day I just cracked! I wrote a letter to my boss saying how much I disliked working in stock and that it was making me go crazy and that I'd be willing to work registers. (I just wanted a job that dealt with people and didn't deal with Tommy.) My boss told me I'd have to stay in stock, and I just shook my head and said "We'll see how long that lasts..." I didn't officially give my two-weeks notice then, but regardless, about a week later, my manager came up to me and said "Jack, Jack, Jack...I'm gonna have to let you go. You're heart just isn't in your work." It was one of the best days of my life. That was only last month, so now I'm looking for another job and it's not easy. Applications are awkward...I decided to put Hobby Lobby down as a reference though. If I had only worked there for like 3 months though, then I wouldn't. And compared to some people who get fired for stealing or never showing up to work or whatever, I think the reason I got let go wasn't even a huge deal. Plus I was 17...maybe employers will ask me how this has made me grow up a little and what I'd learned. (The only thing I learned is that Hobby Lobby sucks, but I'll just lie and say I learned the importance of hard work or some other bs.)

The only time I was really fired was when I was in college. Other than that, my position was eliminated three years ago. Bottom line, it was a firing, they just didn't want the liability. But, the upside was on paper, the position was eliminated, and they could never say any different. Oh...and I didn't do anything wrong, they fire people once a year in an effort to make their books look better. Very unethical company...okay to let a small company of 400 go down so they could keep the executives in their top of the line SUVS.

I got fired from a job and was out of work for approximately 2 months. I have not been out of work since then and it has been over 10 years.

Yes, yes and yes. Several times actually. I was glad when it happened, too. Often a kick in the pants is a big step forward.

On the other hand, with my present job I'm glad it didn't happen. YMMV.
