I have posted a few times now about not having been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD but wanting to get my hands on some Adderall to aid in focusing... getting the most bang for my buck... in dental school. I am starting in August and this is an endpoint in my education from my standpoint now. I want to specialize. It's VERY competitive. I want to learn all I can to better serve my patients. I don't want to use this drug recreationally. If Adderall can help me to focus and concentrate, thereby helping me to learn the most information in a given amount of time, to eventually better help those that come to me for treatment why in the world would people consider this unethical? Can anyone explain this to me?

I recently was laid off from a job I have worked for 6 years. I have 2 boys 6 and 4. I am really enjoying my life at home taking them to school, picking them up. I am so stress free.
I know people work from home making good money and having the time for their family. There just seems to be many scams out there. Most ask for your money...dah...do you think I am stupid!!! I am not going to hand over thousands of dollars to a complete stranger to make money.

Help...deparate to make ends meet while being a mother.

I currently work in IT (tech services, stuff like imaging, client support, rollouts etc) and have been for 12 years. I haven't reached mgmt despite doing fairly well and getting good reviews along the way. I was never a geek type and have little interest in techie stuff, I more fell into this industry. I really don't like what I am doing. Because of a huge merger, my job is about to go away. My choice is to try to leverage all of my 12 years experience, a recent MBA and PMP credential, into a new & different IT position, or change careers entirely. I know I'm not too old to change careers but it seems like a waste of all that experience and work to go into a whole new industry. But with all the IT offshoring and the extreme difficulty in moving into a different area of IT (the reaction to IT folks with tech services type experience trying to move into other areas is usually "not interested") changing careers might be best. Can't keep doing tech svcs, I'll hate life. Advice? Thanks!

I have been working at two seperate jobs now (both call centers). One was at a call center for a law firm and that only lasted one week. The training was only one week and didn't go very smoothly. It seems that companies here in Texas are training people less and less. A majority of the time new employees really don't know what to do on the job. It seems that training new employees is not a top priority of companies these days compared to 30 years ago and are spending less money on that training to cut costs. My question is why is this trend happening and is there any way of changing it so employees know what their job functions and roles are and know what to do on the job? Is this in other sectors too? I am now working in a call center and it is related to DSL and the internet and they only train new employees for a week and it only lasts 20 hours and they pay very cheap and expect people to pretty much be a network technician when they are completed. Why do employers do this?

Okay, I started working at Whataburger on the 7th and I've been working ever since. They JUST gave me my paychek yesterday because we get paid every Monday because they told me that they didn't have my paycheck on the 12th. They paid me for the 1st week I worked and not from the 13th to the 18th. Is that normal, or should I bring it up with them?

I started working for an architecture firm in December. My boss promised me everything from full benefits, a Blackberry, and half payment of my car each month. Last week, he called me into his office and told me that they were closing my division down, he fired me on the spot, but I pleaded with him to stay. He moved me to another division, which I have no background in. I am trying as hard as I can, but my new manager is like an evil drill instructor. I tok this job for it’s stability, but now I want to get back into my original field, media and broadcasting. How do I make the break from this job???

I work in a school, and our special ed 'coordinator' does NOTHING. He does maybe about 2 hours of work per day...and the rest of the day he hangs out with different people who don't teach. It's very hard to find subs for class when we are sick. Like today...I feel horrible, but am here b/c I know he won't substitute. My classes are filled with special ed kids, and he is never present to assist anyone. He delegates his work to others, and expects them to do it. All the teachers are sick of his lack of a work ethic. He said the other day that he doesn't want to get another job...cause that would mean he had to work. I could have slapped him! We want to let the principal know, but are debating how to approach him. Any suggestions? Oh...and going to the guy himself does nothing! He just laughs, or rolls his eyes. We need someone that actually cares about helping these kids out.

I am working for a big company in health care. Now one of the doctors that I work with is opening his own practise. I am going to work for him starting in two weeks but he never talkes about how much money I will make. I am making 13.47 right now but I would love to make 15,00 to 16,00 an hour. How do I ask for it (friendly) to make sure I get it.?

Hi there. I have always dreamed of working at home. I have been on many sites, but found that through "Good Morning" America show web site, there are a few good ones like Telereach, Intrep, and Alpine Acess to name a few.

Problem is, some of these sites are not so great, and their submission forms for application are not working well (i.e. they don't seem to go through). Either that or it seems that some of them may not have their stuff together yet (i.e. they're not well organized).

So, anyone out there with experience working at home? Can you tell me of an excellent, legitimate, "employee status"?

I DO NOT WANT a 1099/independent contractor/home-based business job! But I DO WANT a REAL work-at-home job where you get a W2 and they send you a paycheck, etc...). A nice, regular, steady job where the company really has it's stuff together, and I can make steady income!

Thanks so much! Please, experienced people answer this question only!

I have been off of work due to a work comp injury and had surgery 2 months ago. I went back to work last week and ended up tearing inside stitches and muscle tissue so I'm off of work again. I have been getting work comp checks but they do not match up to what I make weekly. I'm also missing out on working my 2nd job as I am unable to work there also. It turns out that since I was unable to pay for my medical insurance while I was off, the company I work for is keeping my next 3 paychecks. I am out of money and my mortgage is due amongst my other bills. Are their any other ways I can get caught up without making myself go further into debt? I don't have a whole lot of bills, but am having a hard time putting food on the table for my kids. I am a single Mom. Any suggestions please.
