First of all be honest when interviewing and when they ask about what are your weaknesses. Remember that we all have them. There is nothing wrong with having weaknesses as long as you can show the potential employer that you are aware of them and are moving to improve on them. I would recommend that you prepare yourself before you go into the interview by sitting down and writing down what they are. Or ask a trusted relative/friend to help you with them. As you identify what they are, honestly access how you are improving in each area. To give you an idea of what I am saying, I will use procrastination as a weakness. I tell the interviewer that procrastination is one of my weaknesses. B/c that is the case I use a day planner to help me organize and prioritize my activities to be more productive. Whatever the perceived negative can always be turned into a positive.

Your obvious weakness is being unable to answer that question in a positive manner, like most people. The question should be legally banned from interviews. If you start on about real weaknesses then you are giving them ammunition for not giving you the job or caning you at the first review if you do get employed. If you don't think you have a chance of the job, i.e the interview is going badly, then go on the offensive and suggest that you have a "round the table" therapy session and everyone has to explain their weaknesses, and you'll go last, and have a group hug at the end.

Whatever weakness you choose (and you should choose a real weakness, not the cliched "I'm a perfectionist"), follow up with a detailed example of how you are trying to improve.
For example, my weakness is wanting to do everything myself and not delegate work to others. I realize that not delegating or soliciting help from others when appropriate isn't the wises course of actions. Involving others allows the job to get done quicker and everyone gets to have a feeling of accomplishment. In order to improve, I must see the value in others and how their skill set adds to the team, thus making me a better team player.
In essence, you take a negative (not anything too negative, something mild) and then talk about how you've evolved and improved.

Everyone has their own weaknesses. They would be lying if they say they didn't have any.
Consider what your strengths and weaknesses are by writing a list of these. Looking at your weaknesses, try and put a positive spin on this.
For example, your weakness may be that you're talkative (i.e. you talk too much) & you are applying for a position that involves client contact, you could say: 'my weakness is that I'm too talkative but I find this helps me in dealing with difficult customers'

weakness? Sound like you have a problem coming up with a concrete idea. I would say being perfect because you can use it both negatively and positively. Negative being over perfect and Positive being that making sure that you work is completed properly. But don't make the mistake that you can answer both weakness and strong point with the same word. There is a great way to handle this. Talk about a weakness that you worked on and have improved. Something like -
"Well, I used to have trouble delegating to my staff - and that was a definite weakness, but I took a workshop a couple of years ago that outlined how to improve on that, and it's no longer a problem."
That way - you're not saying that you're perfect - and you're showing them that you can turn a negative into a positive.

I would consider knowing your weaknesses to be a strength so don't be afraid to be honest. Maybe like me you can be too trusting at times, or too judgemental. What ever you find your weaknesses are be quick to point out that you recognise these as weaknesses and have a control of them.

You should say that your weakness is that when you go for an interview you get very nervous and don't know what to say - consequently you don't get the job.
Just be yourself relax and maybe next time be more prepared and think about your weaknesses beforehand.
Hard question to answer when you think about it!

Mine is always along the lines of "I sometimes push myself too hard" etc...however what interviewers are REALLY looking for is that you can give a solution for it.
For example, my weakness is "sometimes, when I've had a bad day, I'm afraid I don't put 100% into my work." And then follow it up with "HOWEVER, I'm always cheerful to customers and know the value of great customer service."

Say that you have weaknesses such as always making sure the work is perfect which can take more time to complete it. make it so the weakness sounds like a strength
