The question probably won't even come up I'm guessing but someone else said it may not be a good idea to go into great detail about it as long as you can do the work period.

I lifeguard at this big pool in my home-town. This patron came up to me the other day and asked whether he had to pay to use an inner-tube. I said yes and he got mad. He wouldn't accept my apologies, though I was very polite.

I told the guy I had to watch my water, but after I turned back to the pool, he lifted up the back of my chair (it's a big rolling lifeguard stand) and rolled it forward before I could get off! The front wheels dropped off the edge with a huge jar.

At that point the head guard ran over to deal with the situation, but the guy pretty much went nuts (I think he had mental problems) and tried to sock the head lifeguard.

The head guard is this really buff dude, and he knocked the patron into the pool. I don't know if he was hurt, or just couldn't swim, but the patron started drowning, and I had to make a rescue. The head guard kicked him out and told me not to put in his role (knocking the patron in) on the paperwork I now have to fill out. What should I do?

I'm a college graduate and I would say above average intelligence, but I have no desire to do what my parents did. Get a job, go to it everyday for 30 years, then hope you've saved enough to retire. That's no way to live. I'm not lazy and definitely want to accomplish great things in live, but I would have a much more enjoyable life as an heir or something.

He often wants to do bag checks and it makes me feel violated because anyone in their right mind at work knows I believe shoplifting is morally wrong and would never do it. Recently, some friends told me it is illegal. Is this true? What can I do when he asks? Can he legally fire me if I refuse?

A few years ago I went to a career fair and talked to a nonprofit. I felt that although the mini-interview had not really led anywhere, I was still intrigued by what the organization did. I sent along a thank you letter to the person I spoke to.

A few weeks later I recieved a message from the other person at the fair who I did not speak to, thanking me for my interest and wanting me to get in touch for a follow-up in their office. She even explicitly thanked me for speaking with, even though I didn't even know who she was.

I recently recieved a rejection for a position from an organization, and the same thing happened--it came from someone with whom I did not interview and have had no prior contact with. They suggested I look into other positions with the organization. I felt that this was rather disorganized as a hiring practice at best.

The short version is that I was denied a position at a local retailer and the only reason I could ascertain would be because of a misdemeanor that I was found guilty of when I was seventeen. The misdemeanor was supposed to be expunged upon successful competeion of juveille probation. Who'd have thought it would come back? The only other thing I could imagine it being is a bankrupty filing, but can an employer deny me a job becase filed chapter seven?
