I am a rad tech and made $42,000 my first year out of college (5 years ago). There can be a big difference in pay depending on where you live. It is a 2 year program, with no real breaks. It is very hard to have a job while going through the program because it takes up so much of your time between classes, labs, hospital clinicals and homework. The program usually requires some prerequisites and you have to apply and be selected into it. It is a good field to get into though, and you can branch out into ct, mri, ultrasound and others. Hope this helps.

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. Nursing is the best option. One, you have more opportunity. Two, you have more room for advancement. Three, hospitals are so desperate for nurses that they are paying a sign on bonus.

I think its a 2 year program. My friends sister did it and she was starting out around 30,000 a year. Not a bad job, she enjoyed it.
