I would start putting applications into places now. Your favorite stores, craft stores, super markets, hardware stores, hostess at a restaurant, camp counsler, house keeper at a hotel (sounds dirty but its good hours and decent pay plus tips if they are left from what ive heard). There are so many options.

try a bowling alley, and go into the mechanical department if you are able, but ask to only do the lanes, they will love you, and you may be able to get very late or very early shifts that class would never occupy, and if you are an extra hand then your schedule will be extremely flexible, not to mention that it will typically pay more than $10. If you really don't like to work with your hands or get sweaty, then ask to work at the desk, as there are typically 4-10 people working that department with at least half of them getting at least 30 hours due to needing double shifts at times.

I had two summer jobs that fit your requirements:
1) I worked in a museum, and
2) I was a camp counselor.

I always came home and worked at the local amusement park. It was a fun job, paid more than the fast food place and it was always a blast.
