Hi there. I have always dreamed of working at home. I have been on many sites, but found that through "Good Morning" America show web site, there are a few good ones like Telereach, Intrep, and Alpine Acess to name a few.

Problem is, some of these sites are not so great, and their submission forms for application are not working well (i.e. they don't seem to go through). Either that or it seems that some of them may not have their stuff together yet (i.e. they're not well organized).

So, anyone out there with experience working at home? Can you tell me of an excellent, legitimate, "employee status"?

I DO NOT WANT a 1099/independent contractor/home-based business job! But I DO WANT a REAL work-at-home job where you get a W2 and they send you a paycheck, etc...). A nice, regular, steady job where the company really has it's stuff together, and I can make steady income!

Thanks so much! Please, experienced people answer this question only!

Most of the real jobs are not resorting to web sites to obtain employees, they do it the regular way though HR. You did not mention your skills, so it is hard to recommend companies.

I have had several jobs over the years, I send in my resume, but include in my cover letter that I am looking for "home office" or telecommuter work. Different companies use different ways to describe it, so try to find out what first.

check out wahm.com (work at home moms) they have an employment section. also, a company called aquent specializes in these types of placements. if you have computer programming skills, database skills (high level), are an RN, paralegal, or any type of medical professional there are a lot of companies that want to hire people like this to field calls from home.

I am a sole proprietorship / self employed.
