I have a resume posted on line, It's been spelled checked for errors and proof read. I see that employer's are looking at it, but I'am not getting any result's. Could it be because of the state that I'am living in has such a high unemployment rate at this time compared to the rest of the country.

I would appreciate everybody's help on this one. Is there anything in the federal or state (NY) law regarding employer's right to let you go if you're absent too often. I have a little child and will probably start a new job within a couple of months; I already have the questioning and strange looks at the current job. Can they let me go if I have to stay home with a sick child and how often is too often? I am not a rocket scientist :))) and I am certainly replaceable but still will they let me go? Isn't that discrimination?

I am a paralegal with litigation and promotional agency experience under my belt relocating to Vancouver next year with my husband. Is there any insight anyone can offer to me about finding a position in Vancouver? Understandably, the US and Canada are 2 different countries.... but is it possible for me to continue working as paralegal in Canada? What kinds of issues to do you think I'll run into when job hunting? (with exception of the inevitable large pay cut). Any insight appreciated.

I am a single parent and work full time. I have had very severe health problems that require daily treatment and alot of hospital appointments. This isn't fair on me or my employer and I am considering giving up my job for a few months to get better. I claim working tax credits to pay for my sons nursery place but if I go on disability benefits will I get any help to keep my son in nursery as we both need this place, him as he needs the stimulation and me coz I am not fit enough to look after him full time. Any one know what I am entitled to or in this situation ??

Say someone has a job that requires social skills and being in the public's eye and the person succeeds in this job and seems to enjoy what they do. But then one day you discover that the person is actually shy outside of their job. For instance, if you see an actress/singer who is really shy when they're not performing. Or if you see a teacher who is really shy when they're not teaching.

What thoughts come to mind? Do you opinions of the person change?

Is it because I was a stay at home mom for a year? My last job won't even hire me back! I worked there for over 6 years! I left on good terms and gave my two weeks notice. What could it be? I also had some difficulties with my pregnancy that required that I take an early medical leave. Then I went back to work for almost a year until I decided to stay at home due to a lack of dependable child care. Any suggestions?

I'm going to ask my sales associate at Neiman Marcus to track down and order a pair of sunglasses for me, since they don't sell the pair at any store, and the only Lanvin boutiques are overseas. The problem is, I've never had to use that service before, as I've always just purchased things in-store. Shoud I tip the associate? Or is the commission enough? I mean, sunglasses are relatively inexpensive.....
I would like any commission-based associates in high-end stores to answer, please.

I know there are questions similar to this, but I wanted to get some advice on my specific scenario. On Monday the 12th, I had a technical interview for a position that I am very interested in. I was told that while the interview was for a specific position with this manager's department, he would also be taking the feedback from my interview to a bi-weekly hiring committee meeting to share with other managers. I was told that it would be a week or two before I should expect to hear back. It is now the following Thursday. At what point would it be okay to call back? AND what would be something appropriate to say?

I am also female but not in his age group. I just like the name poindexter. For 2 months he made things up to try to fire me but Other coworkers were wittnesses so he just said I wasn't fast enough to perform my duties. When he first became manager he told his boss he wanted to get rid of all of us and bring in his friends and was told he could not do that so lowley over the next several months all of us original people are gone and only his friends work there

For example a job offer letter sent to you by PDF aganist one sent by post.

I give my admin assistant a clothing allowance, because she doesn't get paid enough to dress as I would like her to in the office, so I think I should be able to pick her clothes. Of course, I'm a guy, so the skirts are short, the tops are tight and the heels are high. She looks awesome. Instead of saying thank you, she complains. Whats up with that?

My resume has 5 jobs from 2002-2007...that's almost one job per year. These were service/retail jobs. I am getting ready to apply for a mortgage sales job which I seem to qualify for, and I want them to know that if they extend a position to me, I would be in it for the long run. Should I leave off one or two of my previous jobs so they don't get the impression that I will just leave after one year?

My other question was about people taking a dump at work.....
One time I literally slipped off my *** at work and landed on the cement floor. Smooth operator! I have seen some men with boners thru their scrubs.. seen people pulling wedgies out.. haha.
