I give my admin assistant a clothing allowance, because she doesn't get paid enough to dress as I would like her to in the office, so I think I should be able to pick her clothes. Of course, I'm a guy, so the skirts are short, the tops are tight and the heels are high. She looks awesome. Instead of saying thank you, she complains. Whats up with that?

I think it is a good thing to give your administrative assistant a clothing allowance. I have never heard of anything like that before, but it sounds reasonable. She is probably complaining because she doesn't care to wear short skirts, tight tops and high heels. You might think she looks awesome, but she probably doesn't feel comfortable. I could see if you had a different sense of style like for instance looking through a lucky magazine to see what is fashionable and hot right now. Does she look like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman before or after the shopping spree? She would probably feel more inclined to say thank you, if the clothing choice made her feel like a fresh young woman instead of a greasy baby whore!! Think about it, Chief!!

You should pay her more instead of acting like a sugar daddy. Then she can buy her own clothes and stop resenting you for treating her that way. Maybe she's not comfortable with you leering at her all the time and just wants to get her job done. It is not for you to say what she wears, even if you pay for her clothes. Isn't she an adult?

well to a point.Give her ideas of what looks nice for the office but she should beable to decide what she wants to wear.It may be degrading to her to wear clothes that skimpy. You may enjoy watching her work looking like that but,it may not be who she is.She can look presentable without being showy. She can be conservative sexy.I would give her a chance to pick out some outfits and see how she does.I think she will make good decisions.

What you are doing is wrong. You are commiting sexual harrassment and she can bring charges against you. As for giving her an allowance for clothes, no that is not wrong, but I hope the money is being deducted if it is coming out of the company budget. If it is your own personal money, then it is alright. But let her pick out her own clothes ok? You are commiting sexual harrassment by making her wear tight clothing just for your sexual gratification. Shame on you.

I wish I could get a clothing allowance. While it is ungreatful, maybe she isn't comfortable in short skirts, tight blouses and high heels...maybe she feels like a tramp!

Is this a serious question?

It is okay to give her guidelines (business attire, dress shoes, etc) but requirements like short skirts, revealing tops, and high heals borders on sexual harrassment.

Don't be a bastard. It's nice that she gets a clothing allowance since her pay is so shitty, and you can give her dress code guidelines...but you have no right to pick out her clothes. Especially when you're picking terribly uncomfortable, slutty clothes.

Why should you be able to pick her clothes?
She doesn't get paid enough to dress as you would like her to in the office???

So you want her to dress like a tramp? That is very degrading and it is disturbing to me that you would spend money to dress your assistant to your viewing pleasure.

One word.... LAWSUIT!

It sounds like you are trying to make her dress more sexy. That's sexual harassment, and not a good idea.
