Is the content on a PDF as legally binding as that on a printed contract/letter?

For example a job offer letter sent to you by PDF aganist one sent by post.

Yes, electronic mail is legally binding in whatever form as long as it is signed.

I think that it is. I know that if you accept a contract by fax, email text etc it is as legally binding as a written contract these days, so i guess the content of a contract would be too.
