I took my current job on the understanding that myself and another manager were at equal level, reporting to the Board. I have worked there 9 months - she has been there 18 months. We have worked really well together - as well as covering solo projects. She became annoyed with the way an incident was responded to, and had a showdown with the directors (not relating to me!). She was then offered promotion to director - more money, perks, responsibility etc. to entice her to stay.

I am VERY annoyed - not that she got promotion, but that they didn't appear to consider my situation / perspective. Suddenly she is my boss!!!! (The news hasn't been officially released and the directors don't know that I know!!)

What would you do??

I am going into an interview for a scholarship tomorrow and they are pretty much just going to ask me why do I feel that I deserve the scholarship.
someone told me that I should just say
"I've overcome many obstacles to be where I am today. I am very determined and I do my best to succeed at everythig I do. My determination and hard work will be what gets me through college."

Anything else I should say? Any pointers? I heard the people were REALLY nice. So I'm not that worried. I just need to get my answer down to perfection.

I'm interested in this field and I want to be an apprentice or intern or whatever to see what it's like and whether i'd like to pursue it as a career or not. To be more clear, i'll be a senior in high school, not college.

I accidently put this in the wrong category before. How do other women juggle work, family, and all that stuff and have any energy to clean their house, cook and be a happy well adjusted individual?

I was working as a cna and a patient had a accident on the floor and I need help. His nurse looked at me crazy and laughed at me and continued ordering off ebay at the nurses station. I had made several complaints before about the nurses not assiting the care tech when it is neccessary. Nothing was done about it because I was told that the hospital staff thinks that the cna's are low life high school dropouts. I did report the accident to higher management but they stick together.

I run into people that are excited about their job and they want to grow within their company but for some reason, they just don’t get motivated about some of the very important tasks that must be done daily.

WAIT! I'm not looking for huge specifics such as "you need to go here for this much years and then do this and do this" but just the basics of what's need to be done and which classes must be taken care of. :< I'm looking for things like "you need this much years of biology/chemistry/etc." Just in general I mean :) Just curious and looking into my career choices. Recommendations of where to volenteer over summer helps too! Thanks!

I have been in job interviews and later realised I gave a stupid answer to a question I should have handled better.
I read about a bloke who, when under pressure in a tough interview, was asked 'What are your weaknesses?'. His reply was 'fat girls and processed meat products'.
Have you ever given a similarly hilarious answer in an interview ?
I doubt it, that one's the best ever.

I've been interested in working in air cabin crew as a flight attendant for sometime. I've done some research, written to airlines & have a couple of queries that might affect any applications.

Firstly, Im 40 years old & though I look younger Im wondering if this may not be in my favour. Secondly I got into some trouble a year ago for being drunk & disorderly. The police gave me a formal written caution though I've never been in trouble with the police before.

So to be honest it's really important to know where I stand in job applications. Im embarassed about the caution. What can I do? Is there someone I can write to? If you can advise, let me know. Thanks.
